But at the drug store they seriously go $25 for 12.

I had unprotected sex as a young teen, and later found out she had been through half of the football team. I was not a smart teenager. 13 years later I have not had any symptoms of anything, but I may be sexually active again soon and while I know ~CONDOMS~ are there any STD tests I should prioritize or that I can check off as "Well, if my junk hasn't rotted away in the past decade, I know I don't have X or Y"?

Just call a Planned Parenthood and schedule an appointment (or schedule it online - some locations offer that)! No big deal. You're probably fine, but it never hurts to check, and it sounds like you're a little paranoid about this. Relax! Take responsibility for your sexual health and relax in the knowledge that you know how your junk is doing.

Just go get tested. They test for everything; you don't request a specific test for xyz.

You have to tell them you want to be tested for herpes and hepatitis specifically. They won't do it automatically. For the rest you can just ask for the normal STD panel (syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV). There is no test for HPV in men. You really have to get tested regularly because these diseases absolutely can lie in wait with no apparent symptoms for years. Just do it. It's not scary, it's just a boring adulthood responsibility thing.

Yeah clap especially I was told can not manifest for years, best to get tested if you're unsure. Probably no issue but a test will tell you more accurately.

Affi posted:It's either that you're a loving idiot with no sense of responsibility or you haven't had sex for thirteen years. Both, obviously. The reason I'm concerned about specific testing is that I have no insurance and PP's quoted $500 isn't pocket change, so I'd rather not pay $60 for a test for herpalitis if herpalitis shows guaranteed "HI look at me rear end in a top hat" symptoms within the first 13 loving years. When someone comes in here to ask about how to be financially responsible w/regard to being sexually responsible you should probably shut the gently caress up if you have nothing constructive to offer. Nobody knew you were asking about financial reasons -- you evaded explaining it twice. So yeah, in the total absence of any reason not to get tested, people are going to tell you to be responsible. If you post your insurance and state, we may be able to help with the finance angle.

There has to be a story here because you actually did have sex once and probably with someone attractive since she slept with the entire sports team.

Do you have a sexual health clinic? They often are the best route for anything regarding sexual reproduction (hell, even lovely rear end Idaho has one). The most common is Planned Parenthood. They can do sliding scale, payments, or even no cost appointments depending on what your financial situation is like. Obviously tests are going to cost something, but usually no more than 70 (that is what it was for me, and even then, I went in and got a free one because that is what was going on that month). Condoms you can usually get for free, and in my experience, they give you A LOT of condoms. I have currently 2 packs and never used a single one so I'm essentially floating in condom city. They will also do yearly sexual health check ups for you. Anywho. Good place. Check 'em out. They're a god send.

From what I've seen of Ohio and having done some business there, depending upon the part of Ohio it can be an absolutely terrible place. Health insurance plans there are the worst I've ever had and they're among the most expensive I've ever seen. I don't know what they did there but all signs point to "this state has really, really unhealthy people."
