They had to make a lot of sacrifices to get a non-actress who mumbles her lines and doesn't fit the character, okay? Sacrifices. This $300,000,000 movie didn't have the luxury of hiring a casting director, okay?

She's supposed to be bigger than Batman in the comics. It's a pity Lucy Lawless was born too soon to play the part. (She still looks pretty great for turning 48 today. )

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they showed the arm growing back, so one can assume the same thing would happen with his head. The better question is why didn't Superman hand her the spear since she could've wielded it even more effectively and without having to die from using it. Superman was a loving sad brains idiot in this film.

quote:If fanboys don’t cream to Batman’s dream sequence (“It took me to the lie, a beautiful lie” Wayne says), grown-up gay men surely will. In his dream, Batman wears a leathery mask, hiding his identity, while he is taunted by wasplike creatures and forced to acknowledge Superman’s equivalent virility. This goes beyond Guy Ritchie’s boy-boy teasing in last year’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (which co-starred Cavill). It is the most surreal dominance-submission dream in Hollywood history. But Batman v Superman is also a political allegory, using masculine sex appeal to examine America’s current political confusion. Zack Snyder’s comic book avatars are not for children. http://www.out.com/armond-white/2016/3/24/sexiest-batman-and-superman-imaginable

perhaps it isn't just snyder's inability to tell a story, or godot's or cavill's shoddy acting, or the studio's lack of trust and planning in those involved that made the movie what it is. maybe the reason BvS sucks is a combination of factors that worked in tandem to drag down the movie's quality, a perfect storm if you will regardless, this movie will do well in the box office not because americans are stupid and have no taste, but because the chinese and indians are stupid and have no taste. thanks to the global economy, studios don't have to try anymore because the eastern countries will make up the difference as long as it has explosions and beautiful white people. once again, global capitalism ruins everything

The movie would have had to have been 6 hours long in order for Gal Gadot to have had enough lines to judge her acting here. The two dead men from the last movie had more screen time than she did.

The same problem every big idea comic story has. It cannot satisfy itself with a simple exploration of an idea in a tightly constrained narrative. It has to become a bloated over elaborate mythology that stuffs every possible property the company owns into it. Like, Russian Superman is interesting. Stop there. Superman is Russian, tell that story and stick to that story. But then we have Russian sympathizer Wonder Woman. And then Russian loving Batman. And then Lex Luthor for some goddamn reason. And then the Green Lantern corps because why not. And the thread of the plot is lost almost immediately. It stops being about Russian Superman and becomes dictator Superman with his army of zombie slaves and time loops and everything else. It wasn't satisfied being a story, it had to be a property.

At th every least BvS is Zach Snyder's vision; Suicide Squad will be Ayers, and Batman Begins was Nolan's. DC properties let filmmakers make their own films with them, whereas Marvel pushes out talent like Edgar Wright because they want a homogenous image. It fills seats, but the movies all grow samey. See Avengers 1 vs Avengers 2.
