I love this thread, especially as it is the death knell for human made art, a generally useless endeavour that has put money in the pockets of the least useful, for lack of a better term, members of society.

I'm not sure if I like psychedelic Lupin or lakeside impressionist Lupin more (if the impressionist one wasn't as blurry then that'd be the definite winner).

Edgar posted:for some reason this really motivates me to pick up painting. Agreed. Some of these pieces are really fantastic. I'm getting a kick out of combining classic paintings. Picasso and van Gogh combinations seem to do really well. Speaking of which: Spanish Gothic American Gothic by Grant Wood + Guernica by Pablo Picasso Napoleon Crossing Over the Rhone Napoleon Crossing the Alps by Jacques-Louis David + Starry Night Over the Rhone by Vincent van Gogh Liberty Leading the Skat Players Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix + The Skat Players by Otto Dix The Seated Woman with an Ermine The Lady with the Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci + Seated Woman by Pablo Picasso EDIT: Wanted to see how a flip-flop would work. Decided to combine The Merry Family by Jan Steen with The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. Both seem to have come out alright. QuoProQuid fucked around with this message at 00:04 on Apr 4, 2016 |

I take it those of you doing this yourself on your own machines have nVidia hardware? This has been a painful reminder to me that ATI GPU drivers on Linux are still a pile of poo poo. I'd also appreciate some insight into how many iterations you guys are doing, an R9-290 seems to crank through 1000 in a couple minutes. Anyway, here's my first attempt at giving Mr. Trump some texture.

I'd say the sweet spot is around 500-600. Frida Trump is loving hideous.

Has anyone experimented with the size of the pattern image? Do the patterns in the final image scale in relation to the absolute size of the patterns in the pattern image, or the relative size. I.e. does resizing the pattern image do anything?

It's pretty clear that some style images work better than others for general use, I kinda wanna be collecting a list of the good ones. ...then roll the processing code into an app form, distribute along with a nice UI of all of the good source images and example outputs, allow linking to facebook/instagram/whatever the kids are using nowadays, have a pro version for the $5 pricepoint that doesn't put watermarks on, allows custom style images, and high-res outputs. Rake in the moolah. Deepart.app processed images become the new instagram filters, everyone hates them but they're used everywhere anyway. I don't care because I'm rich, you little shits.
