Same.

But I'll settle for it having rad space battles and new guys for them to make wangs out of.

I guess if we are getting a 4th T-65 release, might make sense for it to arrive in conjunction with this film.

Strobe, I flew XXX tonight and I Have Seen The Light!

Went with this at 100 points:

Wedge Antilles
+Proton Torpedoes
+Predator
+Guidance Chips

Wes Janson
+Plasma Torpedoes
+Adaptabiliy (+1)
+Guidance Chips

Luke Skywalker
+Proton Torpedoes
+Adaptability (+1)
+Guidance Chips

First game was up against Vader, Inquisitor, Mauler Mithiel, and Wampa. Inquisitor evaporated turn one from two torpedo hits. Vader went down turn two to focused range-one fire. After that I got really aggressive, hung up on an asteroid, and lost Wedge right before polishing off the two TIEs, but managed to get the last torpedo (Luke's) off to finish mopping things up.

Second game was up against Captain Yorr, Zeta Leader, Epsilon Leader, and I think a generic F/O, all with Comm Relay. I hit the shuttle with two torpedoes and took no fire in return due to good arc-placement, polished it off the next turn with range one fire, dumped the last torpedo into a F/O (which it evaded at the cost of all its tokens), and then just did really well focusing fire to burn them down. Won 100-0.

Wedge hits like a TRUCK.

More X Wings pilots also hopefully more ships for the Armada gods. Rebels need some cool ship designs that aren't Home One! But at the same time I'm kind of hoping FFG releases a Black Leader painted T-70.

(Also more female pilots :v:)

Oooog, I might need to retire my XXY list at 11-10 — got brutalized tonight by crack shot swarm and Whisper/Palp Decimator. I could've pulled out the swarm game if I'd made basic good decisions like 'focus fire', but I let myself be tempted by sin and went for sick proton torpedo one-shots instead of plugging TIEs with one health. As a result I lost to a pair of TIEs at one hull each :v:

Against Whisper I paid the price for my lack of vision (and VI) by trying to chase the Decimator down and suffering a serious whispering. I did get the Phantom's shields off and put a couple crits on the Decimator's hull, but most turns most of my ships didn't have anything to hit.

I am getting real good at flying in formation and not bumping asteroids!

The trick to dealing with swarms I've found is bringing the fight into the middle of obstacle clusters. If you're doing good at not bumping rocks then force the other guy to follow you through them.

Also seismic charges.

Whats the solution to a squadron of TIE fighters chasing you? You lure them into an asteroid field obviously.

To be fair, I've been considering obstacle choice and placement a lot more now that 3x JM5K is the new hotness. On Saturday I plan to bring three of the biggest asteroids I've got, it certainly helped when my opponent during the store championship parked one of his U-boats on a rock for a turn, and while they have very nice dials they also have big ship bases and even though they have turrets the whole point of the list hinges on them attempting to get people in arc. I figure the more mat real estate I can cover with obstacles, the better a chance I have at forcing my opponent to make some difficult choices when maneuvering, and the more collisions I can cause the better.

All Hail Big Hairy Mike

The best anti-swarm play I've managed to pull off was during an Epic game; I pulled the entire swarm to one side, sandwiched between some rocks with my '1300 flanking... I swing Nera Dantels right into the middle of them and fire off an Ion torpedo at the center fighter, ionizing the entire swarm. Next move, they're stuck going forward 1, with my CR90 lined up to plow through them while making a 2-turn. I take out 3 of 5 TIE/FOs in one ram. I still lost in the end but it was one of those plays that everyone stopped what they were doing to come watch.

That sounds amazing, I've always wanted to do that, and just crush someone's squadron. Although now I'm curious - how did you lose against two TIE/FOs with a CR90, YT-1300 and a B-Wing? Did they still have like, an epic ship + escort of their own still. or something?

I have you now

I played a couple of games with this last night, and I'm probably taking it to my store championship on Sunday:

quote:

Biggs Darklighter
R2-D2
Integrated Astromech

Kanan Jarrus
Advanced Sensors
Recon Specialist

Gold Squadron Pilot
BTL-A4 Y-Wing
R3-A2
Twin Laser Turret

It's a lot of fun. Kanan flies ahead while keeping Biggs behind him at range 1 - Kanan dumps all his focus into neutering the shots fired at Biggs, and Biggs buys time while Kanan and the Hog kill stuff.

I really wanted to squeeze in another Recon specialist so that Kanan could occasionally use a focus on his own shots, but I think having Advanced Sensors is more important, so that he can get actions in before bumping or K-Turning.

I considered it, but wouldn't that be counterproductive? I don't want Kanan to block Biggs; I want them to shoot Biggs, because both Ghosts and Y-Wings go down real fast. He's there to buy them time while they do the heavy lifting.

Obstructing does not mean what you think it means.

It basically means that the Ghost acts like a big moving asteroid in front of Biggs, and thus any shots that goes through the large base of the Ghost gives +1 agility to Biggs. It makes him a lot more survivable, especially against swarms.

As a bonus, your own shots aren't obstructed, because the tactical jammer only affects enemy ships. It's a really nifty modification IMO.
