Reddit is okay for instant gratification. The constant stream of content from the millions of users means that if you are in the mood for funny cat videos, you will probably be able to find a bunch of new ones. Reddit is bad if you ever have a difference of opinion ever, because it is an echo chamber. The popular opinions get repeated ad nauseum because how else are you going to get ~le internet points~, while the unpopular ones are buried because people don't agree with them, and so don't upvote them (this is charitable, the actual behaviour is usually disagree=downvote). Thus, you have the current state of affairs on r/eve, where anything coming from the Imperium is actively rejected and muted because the majority of redditors don't like goons. The only really decent communities on reddit tend to be the smaller ones.
