At TNAsylum, Raven Effect is fantasy booking the Impact theme song.

quote:

I chose the song “Reincarnate” by Motionless In White for multiple reasons. To start, I absolutely love this song, and also absolutely love this band (though their most recent album Reincarnate has a lot of lyrics that are too corny for me to enjoy); but, I also chose it because it’s wrestling friendly. Not only is this song wrestling friendly, but the band is too. There are a couple of songs that seemingly quote or mention wrestling sayings but I also saw a lot of their merchandise be pro-wrestling inspired along with a lot of direct knockoffs from the WWF Attitude Era, including MIW 3:16 and Steve Austin middle finger logos with their name written on it.

But, most importantly I feel the song tells a story about TNA on Pop TV in 2016. In a lot of ways, for better or for worse (truthfully, very much for worse) the old TNA is dead and gone. This song kind of pokes at the IWC who has predicted TNA’s death for years but they’re still alive, but also says the old is gone and this is a new company and product. I would show both the members of the current active roster on the opening video but then during certain parts of the song would still show some of TNA’s past talents on what is clearly older footage so some do not get confused expecting to see AJ, Daniels, Joe, etc.

"Reincarnate"
GET UP!

BLEH! (DURING THIS COUPLE OF SECONDS, I’D PUT EC3 & JEFF HARDY ON SCREEN)

You pull the trigger just for fun
Forgetting I'm a loaded gun (DEFINETELY A SHOT OF BRAM FOR THIS LINE)
So hate me for the things I've done (SHOT ROCKSTAR SPUD)
And not for what I've now become (SHOT OF MATT HARDY)

I want this (SHOTS OF DREW GALLOWAY, LASHLEY AND GAIL KIM)
I need this
I love it

Crawling from hell, fallen from grace, (SHOW THE DECAY THEN DANIELS)
And there is nothing left to take. (NEXT COUPLE ARE ANGLE HEABUTTING JOE)
Leaving the past to the grave
So we can reincarnate (SHOT OF THE WOLVES)

You sit upon your throne of filth (NEXT TWO LINES FEATURE MIKE BENNETT/MARIA)
Condemning what you haven't built
So hate me 'cause you're standing still (SHOT OF JAMES STORM FOR NEXT TWO)
Watching while I shoot to kill

I live this (JADE VS MADISON & ELI DRAKE)
I breathe this
You crave it

Crawling from hell, fallen from grace, SHOTS OF OLD: STING, EY & DIRTY HEELS
And there is nothing left to take.
Leaving the past to the grave
So we can reincarnate
[Next part of the song is cut out]
We lie down (JEFF HARDY IS NEXT TWO LINES)
We're sore and sick
We fall down (GODDERZ V ROBBIE)
Sink or swim (TIGRE UNO LEAPING OFF OF CAGE AT TREVOR LEE CLIP)
Underground,
The remedy for who we are and what lies beneath (ENDS WITH SHOT OF EC3)
REINCARNATE!

Also, the next part of the article is about how wrestling needs a Rafi from The League character.

quote:

Did anyone ever watch the show The League on FX/FXXX? I know that my life is never going to be the same without new episodes. However, my favorite character on the show is the one that always stood out the most, the character you either loved or hated, Rafi. This character is just completely out there. The most bizarre and out there character I’ve ever seen on TV. This guy was so crazy, and over the top that the character actually fits in wrestling.

Yes, because TNA absolutely would have benefited from that fame if they had just listened to you and kept him. They totally wouldn't have held him down. It's not like him being released from TNA and getting all that recognition correlate at all.

Yeah, Nakamura challenged Zayn to a match in the same video that announced he would be coming to NXT. He picked Zayn because he wanted to test himself against the best and Zayn accepted for the same reason.

It's pretty straightforward.

Wrestling only matters if there's some plot line about who's going to control the company for the millionth time that is immediately forgotten about when the match starts.

Maybe this is a stupid opinion in which case it fits in this thread, but I hate ladder matches. They seem custom made to hurt people and if they need to happen at all it should be as part of a feud and not as a way to get 6 extra people into a show. Finally the best wrestlers should never have to do the drat things, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, whatever, none of these guys need a ladder to make people care about their matches and adding a ladder just makes it more likely they will get injured. Leave the gimmicks to the fuckers who need them and let the guys who can make you care about a wrestling match wrestle.

Is that how Jimmyz started? I know next to nothing about Dragon Gate so I just assumed they all came together and mutually agreed that they were each Jimmy now. If it's as a result of losing matches to a Jimmy, who was patient zero for the Jimmyz?

sticklefifer

"Jimi" in Japanese means plain/boring, and all of the original members were called plain by fans/peers. So in defiance they all changed their names to Jimmy.

Notable variations: Genki Horiguchi got "H-A-G-E" (bald) chants, so he changed his name to H.A.Gee.Mee!! And then there was Mr. Quu Quu Naoki Tanizaki Toyonaka Dolphin, who was Naoki Tanizaki but got his name stolen by T-Hawk while he was injured, and lost the match for the rights to his name so T-Hawk gave him a ridiculously long name because he cried like a dolphin about it and he's from Toyonaka. He never got a Jimmy name for whatever reason.
