Well, the fact that it's about 580 miles between London and Berlin while LA to NYC is about 2,450 miles is a big factor.

Oh yeah, my friend flew with them to get from Houston to Disney World and back again.

On the way back they had to land in New Orleans because of a storm, and there wouldn't be another flight for 36 hours. She just drove back.

Yeah, an equivalent distance for London-Berlin is like San Francisco to San Diego, and you can get $200 flights easily (with big carriers).

I'm literally going to the airport to fly on a spirit flight right now, and they're cheap but usually on time so I don't get the hate. One way 50 dollar tickets across the country are worth it for quick conference or business trips.

Okay, I used to work flight insurance, and Spirit is the only airline I had to process "The wing fell off" style claims. Please tell me you have insurance.

The term 'coxinha', meaning a local fried food made of pulled chicken, cheese, and mashed potatoes molded into the shape of a chicken leg and then fried, also stands for upper middle-class, conservative, entitled white guys. He's implying that such types, jumping onto the bandwagon of the current political crisis, are tearing the country apart.

Yeah, when airlines say "we can't do (nice thing) because all of our customers are constantly searching for the absolute cheapest fare all the time and if that isn't us than we go out of business" that's the unvarnished truth.

I wanted to support Hawaii's recent court case against small seats, but in the end I had to take the airline's side and just think of economy plus or whatever as the real price of flying for me.

I agree. Its just that I always thought that Lincoln growing his beard later would be one of the central elements of American lore, like Kennedy getting shot after having been elected president.

I genuinely don't even know what's pissing me of so much about this. Maybe it's because I always think of Lincoln as the one decent president the Republicans had.

Kennedy tend not to be depicted in pop culture as a corpse with a hole straight through his skull. Meanwhile, you take any depiction of Lincoln in any show, cartoon, comic, movie or game, and it will always have two elements - the stovepipe hat, and the beard. Remove them, and 99% of Americans won't know who they're looking at. Especially when you factor in that Ramirez couldn't depict someone recognizably if you held a gun to his head.

Also Republicans had Eisenhower, so there's that.

I've flown RyanAir and it was honestly about as good as any flight I've had in the US. It's not like the economy class here treats you like a person, either, and having to pay a few hundred to go even a couple states over is like a kick to the dick on top.

That's still like 5-10 times as expensive. The whole industry really ought to be nationalized. There are many reasons to fly and it's insane that we have to pay as much as we do.

NA flight prices are kinda ridiculous but I can't fly Ryanair for more than an hour without cramping up hardcore. Their seats do not work well if you're like above 5'8".
