I've watched the first few episodes and Beautiful Dreamer, and I've read a few volumes of the manga. Ranma seems better, overall.

I grew up watching Ranma so I have an incredible amount of nostalgia for it But I wound up liking UY more after getting past those early eps, which are definitely the weakest part

The Ranma anime starts off strong and becomes less good over time, but UY really picks up momentum as it goes along
