don't forget that Warhammer got destroyed for a lovely 40k clone and specialist games got destroyed for cutting into the revenues of the main lines too much!

edit: i dont know that much about 40k and even i know that tyranids are in a way worse spot than eldar dude, let the guy sell his tyranids while they're still worth something jfc

I'm only happy that the BFG beta is very, very promising and that specialist games are slowly making a comeback.

Some day I might be able to maneuver blocks of infantry again in a very popular and supported game that has a fun little city based, gang of friends finding magical rocks game to go with it.

No. You misunderstood me then.

From the get-go I said it made sense for GW to cut or radically alter Fantasy because they are a business and it was a money sink. I think I used the words "relaunch" or something similar. How they did it was not exactly a plethora of good options, but what it ended up being was terrible and I agreed with that to fullest extent. Still haven't considered playing AoS. You were (understandably) upset about that at the time, but I think you kind of took it past that since.

Honestly, no hard feelings.

I love the visuals and the idea of Infinity. But the models are pretty intimidating from a painting stand point. They look like a nightmare to assemble.

Some of the older models might require pinning or a tiny blob of green stuff in the joint. But the newer models have square joints, making them pretty easy to assemble!

Regards to painting them, the crisp detail actually make them easier to paint.

For instance, this Umbra Legate's red parts were literally baal red wash and ogryn flesh wash on white undercoat.

With Imperial Knight: Renegade I think I am actually going to be able to justify a Knight army to myself (I already have one model). Which is nice. I'll need to decide between house horsey emblem or one of the Ad Mech families though.

Renegade might be the excuse I need to pick up a Knight, I may check with local guys to see if anyone wants to split a set. I've no real need for the terrain (I have a ton of that stuff needing assembly already) and not sure if I want both Knights considering they're mainly just to paint up.

Re the WHW meetup on Tuesday, what sort of points are we looking at for the games? I can do 1500 no problem, 2k should be doable. Any restrictions on formations etc? I've been wanting to experiment with a Gladius (Just a simgle demi company) with the Sallies but if you're not up for those shenanigans I can just do a CAD instead.

Thats the cool part. He can ally in a librarius conclave or whatever its called and still cast that terrain power to help his genestealers because it targets the terrain and not the units.

Chief Librarian Menov Hardcast concentrated on the earth before him. The sky darkened and lightning shot forth from the ground. An entire tectonic plate lifted itself into the sky, water rushing off the edges from lakes, oceans, and rivers. Buildings smashed into each other and tumbled down like matchsticks. Dirt, lava, tree roots, and piles of skulls rained as the plate shifted forwards several kilometers and then, as quickly as it had lifted, came crashing down- an event so cataclysmic that every volcano on the planet erupted simultaneously, devastating all life. An entire realm of battle board had shifted forwards 18". The traitorous sisters of battle that had been standing where it had landed were now entombed in a plastic plate, at least 2" thick, unable to move. Those foolish enough to disembark found themselves lost in the warp or placed into ongoing reserves. The few reminaing now in easy charge range of his space wolf deathstar. Oceans flowed into the newly created void, boiled away by the heat of planet's core, and then quickly formed into terrible storms. Every ecosystem on the planet utterly destroyed, the planet trembled.

Ash fell from the sky as volcanoes exploded all around him. Menov grinned smugly. Another victory for the Imperium. Hail to Sigmar.

Pretty much. Though this giant mistake of a power can easily be countered by just having a decent amount of terrain on the table to start with. Then they'd need multiple Psykers to sweep the other terrain away.

It's a better chance that you'll be able to force an opponent to keep models outside of cover or weep as you move their Broadsides in ruins into the center of the table and assault the hell out of them.

I'm hosting a 2v2 this Friday night. Since we're starting late and there's four of us, I'm setting the points limit at 750 pts per player. I'll be going with CSM, but for future reference, does anyone know if Khorne Daemonkin works at that point range? I quite like small points caps since it can make you think quite hard about what to bring, and I'm also likely to be hosting a beginners tournament in my circle of friends so might be useful for that.
