Yeah, it looks like the new album is gonna be dropping sometime within the next few months. I was watching some live performances of new songs from back in 2012 and although it's a long time ago now I really hope all these tracks make it onto the new album and are just as good as the live versions because they're all excellent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4AEzM-e5eA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B1D5kz0yus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prhSe71_nmM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGm1dxyOSco

In the video Thom says that Identikit is his favourite of these, and he's right. A pretty solid lock for the album.

And now there's this:quote:Update (4/15 8:20 a.m.): Radiohead's camp have issued a statement clarifying Message's relationship to the band. He is "not Radiohead's manager - he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night's event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead's management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group." I'm pretty sure every time a Radiohead fan asks when the next album is coming it gets pushed back three days and made ten seconds shorter. We're gonna be lucky to get a two-track single by Christmas at this rate.

He's not the de facto manager but he's been associated with the band for years So at how do you take Radiohead's distancing statement... Maybe he didn't say something inaccurate, but it was WRONG of him to say it? I mean, you can run a custom search from 2007 to 2015 and find plenty of articles where he is described as management They never bothered to correct it before. Sensitive over the new album. Here's an article from 2010 https://next.ft.com/content/92d98d1c-bae9-11df-9e1d-00144feab49a quote:His links with Radiohead date back to 1994, when he met the band’s original managers – Bryce Edge and Chris Hufford – while working at Radiohead’s then label, EMI. The three men bonded over grumbling discussions about the music industry. Labels, they complained, were interested only in short-term profit, not an artist’s long-term development.

Just a cool guy note that re-listening to I Might Be Wrong live album on spotify is a healthy reminder that the Kid A / Amnesiac era live interpretations are unbelievably high quality and they did The Right Thing by not including OK Computer/Bends stuff on that album (True Love Waits kind of excepted, but it's a wonderful coda so who cares). I do hope they consider dropping Everything In It's Right Place in this run of shows though. Awesome song but not as fun live as some of the other stuff.

The mystery is why they didn't include every Kid A/Amnesiac song. Why only seven?

Kid A is a pretty good b-sides collection for Amnesiac. It would also make a good EP.

The only thing that would have made Amnesiac even better would have been replacing Pulk with Amazing Sounds of Orgy. And I like Pulk.

Fun that Radiohead have soundboard recordings of pretty much all their gigs but we only have one live album More fun that this exists http://www.radiohead-notforprofit.com

Pretty standard that a band would record soundboards (usually multitracks if bigger acts) of their shows. And pretty standard that those wouldn't be released to the public, except for occasional exceptions. They did release soundboard audio for one of the NYC and the Prague (?) show a few years back for a fan multi-cam. So that's cool. But they're not open-taping, so it's a bit of a balancing act.

If only they'd actually put their policy where their hearts are. Make things open audio/video taping (with certain etiquette rules). Then we wouldn't have to deal with hassle of security, and quality would improve even more.
