Stalin's death count is MASSIVELY inflated by attributing famines to his mystical powers of reality control, but this is nonsense, and only serves to keep other despots down. End communist bias in mass murder!

We should just blank slate it. No more history. We stop telling kids about the past. We make intelligent decisions based off of measured analysis of current circumstances. Technologies and nature. We adopt the pure principals of objective science. We make no gods or idol, and instead worship humanitiy's new unified effort to download its collective consciousness into a singular entity. Having conquered old age and death, we will then turn to the stars. This can only happen after a catastrophic event reduces population to pre-industrial levels. Utopia is on the other side of a massive die-off, but at least the so-called "sins" of the USSR will be buried and forgotten. The human narrative continues.

If you look into his positions on transitioning companies from top-down structures into democratically run co-op models, he does seem to be an actual democratic socialist, or a syndicalist at the very least. The platform he's running on as president emphasizes modernizing the country's economy into a social democracy though because there's only so much you can push for at once. His actual socialist policies are more wonkish and less interesting to voters.

Dynasties, no matter how removed from the populace, change. At some point an immortal person is going to stop changing. A Dick Cheney that can cast aside the facade and rule openly for three hundred years, warping society and politics with his vast power and wealth would be abominable.

There are, at this very moment, people in Silicon Valley who would put people who believe this in camps if the techlords somehow found themselves ruling the world.

Dick Cheney is aware of what he's done, and what he needs to keep doing to maintain power. Most dynasties are pretty bad at passing that information down through the centuries. Also, genetics might throw the occasional not-poo poo Cheney out into the world, while Dick will always be a monster. Basically, I'd rather have the dynasty on a level playing field, and if I can't get that, I'd at least like the dynasts to be mortal.

well isnt that why monarchies/ heretary dynasty dont work. For every Good king, you will probaly have 2 jofferies , 3 child kings that are basicaly ruled by the regent, and 2 charles the seconds. and if you have brothers/sisters they may start a civil to claim the throne. Yeah God emperor cheney might be ok for the first centeruy or two, but what if he develops maddness and becomes openly cruel, or he goes into a vegitive state.

Actual heat-death of the universe immortality isn't really necessary, nor desirable. But living for exactly as long as you'd like while able-bodied is what anyone interested in immortality is looking for.

The discovery of immortality would so drastically reshape society, and only take place after such drastic reshapings of society, that people could no longer be "rich" or "powerful" in the way that we talk about those terms today. it might not be a happier society but its certainly not one that you can map with contemporary class dynamics or political history up to this point

She is the type of person who would actively support immortality, for herself and friends and would kill anyone who tried to oppose her. You support her in her ambitions thus perpetuating the system that will eventually birth such a technology and deprive it from most.
