Yeah I wasn't sure what to expect when that conversation started but I really liked that he stayed consistent to his own feelings on it. I regretted reading it at work because that panel of him hugging her all bundled up with tears in his eyes tore me up.

It's been a while since I read any BL dad manga that was worth mentioning, but I re-read this one tonight and it's pretty good. Tonari No Kare Matsuda moves to Tokyo to experience a student's life for the first time. Already, on the first day he meets his neighbour, who lives with a small girl who calls him Yo-chan. Why are they living together and where's the mother of the little girl, and also why is Matsuda so interested in their affairs... Guy moves into an apartment and starts getting to know his neighbor. It's pretty low-key as they slowly warm up to each other. Kinoshita's art may not be everyone's cup of tea but I really like her storytelling -- everyone has flaws and there's not a lot of fluffy romance, and overall it's kind of bittersweet once Yoshihiko starts unpacking his baggage and revealing why he acts like he does.

I do really like it's pace. It's not moving too slowly, and it's not doing huge timeskips. But you can tell that each chapter covers at least a few weeks, which gives it a good sense of forward progression.
