Is the harvest moon game worth it? I guess I'd rather play stardew valley but having a game to play on the couch is appealing too.

I'm wondering this too. I'd buy iOS stardew in an instant but the harvest moon games are known for being iffy.

I played a bunch of the Harvest Moon game and posted a bit. My final verdict being that it's worth it if you really love the series. It's a bit of a weak offering compared to other mobile versions. For context, I was married with every animal by the end of the first year. You can grow any crop in any season (even winter) which is dumb, and it's easy to save scum the mine to get rich.

But if you need to scratch a harvest moon itch on the go, it's perfectly sufficient.

I used to love HM games because i am lame.

But HM after Stardew is rough, not adding any elements to your game series for 15 years really sucks. I'd say if you can buy Stardew on steam and find something else to fill your mobile time with, maybe a kairosoft game.

Which kairosoft games are hot, anyway? I've played the mall one and the game dev one, both of which are great. Looks like there are a ton of choices now, though. Any particular standouts?

Epic Astro / Dungeon Village (practically identical, sci fi vs fantasy) and Grand Prix are the notable ones.

i personally like the sports ones the most but they are more or less nothing like the mall or game dev ones.

horse racing, car racing, soccer, all pretty high quality wastes of an afternoon or twelve.

Biz Builder Deluxe is kinda nuts if you just wanna roll all the Kairosoft games basically into one.

They've got a few "dungeon" games that are also fairly different from the rest with like Ninja Village and Dungeon Whatever but I found those to be way too easy and straightforward.

Oh and Beastie Bay is their pokemon-esque game I guess. It's okay.

Couldn't you use DUET? the app, not the game, to push it to an IPAD?

You'd need a pretty long Ipad cable.

To that end, I would very much enjoy something remotely like Crusader Kings II on an iPad. That's one of those things that will feel futuristic when it arrives.

I haven't tried CK2 on it but I regularly play Civ5 on my iPad via Splashtop, that might work for you.

How does Splashtop compare to something like Moonlight for streaming games?

The main problem with mobile Paradox games is the interface is super cramped and everything is tiny, so you'd probably need to either crank the resolution down or make a UI mod to make it feasible at all.

I think they spent some time streamlining civ5 for touchscreen PCs so it may just be an outlier. Even then I still have a UI mod installed.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Paradox stated that they would never dumb their games down for mobile devices.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
I've played CK2 on my Surface Pro 4 (basically same screen size as the larger iPad Pro) and although it's playable, the interface sucks balls. It's annoying enough on a 24" monitor, so halving the screen size and doubling the resolution makes it ridiculous.

I put some time into the new F2P monster hunter game and I have to say that it is actually pretty good. Yes it is quite lovely that MHFU is still broken but this is a decent replacement.

Bullet Points

1. No energy timers
2. No gatcha
3. Real time 4P multiplayer
4. It plays in portrait mode so it's easy to play one handed.
5. Crystals are used for Box space and extra loot (as far as I can tell)
6. There is an Auto mode but you can only do it 3 times a day.

The combat is dumbed down for one handed play but you still dodge and poo poo and supposedly it gets harder. If you have a CA App Store account or like Monster hunter I'd say check it out. It should be going worldwide before too long and I'm praying that Capcom does not change too much poo poo when they launch it worldwide.

I enjoyed Fallen London last night for awhile. Not sure what's going on but I enjoy the atmosphere.

Today I'm getting that blank screen after the logo splash screen. Letting it sit for 5 mins didn't help, nor did a restart of the phone.

I hope it works again or gets patched soon, it was a pleasant enough game to play around with.

Not pleasant enough to reinstall it to see if that fixes it but close.
