ugh getting cuda working on ec2 is a pain in the rear end i liked atomicthumbs rnn trained on top gun but i wondered if a larger sample size would help so im training a 2048 neuron net on the entire seinfeld script library. should take about 60-100 hours but ill check the snapshots to see how its going.

y'all ever check out r/subredditsimulator? it's similar to what we're doing but it takes various reddit boards and creates new posts from their contents. sometimes the results are hilarious: https://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditSimulator/comments/4hbi6f/donald_j_trump_i_will_be_released_into/

Moist von Lipwig posted:ugh getting cuda working on ec2 is a pain in the rear end apparently 2-4x my ~200kb corpus size is the minimum to start with a small network, and the larger your corpus is the bigger a network you can run without overfitting. you will need many megabytes for a 2048 neuron network tho in my case i'm just gonna have to wait for tori to post more. shouldn't take long

I've got all 180 episodes which comes to just over 5mb of raw text which SHOULD be enough to not overfit a 2048 net I think? I gotta do more reading but I was just excited to get it running. if it proves to be reasonable I'll post my script for getting this running.

# ? May 3, 2016 14:00 |

did you scrape the seinfeld scripts yourself? i tried this with like a handful of episodes but was too lazy to get all of them. 5mb should be enough
|
# ? May 3, 2016 15:10 |

I just grabbed them by hand while CUDA installed. I was gonna set up beautiful soup or something to scrape but it only took like 20 minutes to copy and paste them by hand
