Thanks for the responses about the game length, guys. Good to know I've got a ways to go. I just did the the Skellige heir quest last night. I love the payoffs these secondary quests have. Outside viking party with music and happy people, including characters you've helped out a long the way Left with a pretty good feeling after that

I was already in love with this game, but I just finished Heart of Stone and that was legitimately one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. So loving good.

So I was checking videos and there was one of King Bran's son becoming King of Skellige. Does this only happen if you don't complete the Cerys and Hjalmar quests before finding Ciri? I was actually quite surprised at how good a king he appears to be. Dude went all Red Wedding on the Nilfgaard delegates.

I turned Gwent up to hard, and two matches weren't clear stomps in Hearts of Stone - but cards over there could be tuned higher just like combat in general.

The game may consider those both to be side-quests not MQ, it's really good at blurring that line.

I really hope Geralt gets to bang all of these babes, vampires or not, but it's fiendishly complex and you have to be completely two faced to them all. Then at the end they all find out what he's doing and give him huge amounts of poo poo for it. There are some Witcher Comics at my LCS, are they any good? i think one of them is the Fox Children.

Oh my loving god CDProjekt, please stop making me fight enemies in tiny cramped rooms. If it isn't the camera loving me over it's Geralt getting his rear end stuck on things. Also this game never ends does it?

adding another Gwent faction doesn't really make sense because they're already spread thin and it takes forever to get a playable Monsters/Scoiatel deck as is

How exactly does attack power affect combat DPS? Is it just a straight percentage increase? Or something else? e: I've been essentially winging it and muddling through so far and I'm trying to get a better sense of whether to go for Ursine or Fleine gear; I have mostly Combat skills at this point, but I have the General adrenaline skills and Cat School Techniques (I'll need to redo my skills when I have a better sense of what in the hell I am doing). It's good. There are a few small bits of content to see if you play it before you finish the game (dialogue with an old paramour of Vesemir's, a few lines of dialogue with your ladies about your current predicament if you bother to travel all the way to the other side of the map to discuss it with them, asking a guy about Ciri in one of the endings if you haven't found her yet) but you can look all of these up on Youtube. It's meant to be played post-game, mostly.

The quests are meant to be played post-game but the expansion also adds locations to the existing world that you can explore without it, new gear, runes and other stuf that you get in the main game too so if you already know you're going to play it I would suggest getting it while you're still in the main game.

Yeah, I'm in the post game, but wasn't sure what impact it had on the overall story, if it was a postgame thing or not. This has nothing to do with the Ciri story, right?

Though there are some (minor) things that characters in the main story will comment on that you'll miss out on by doing it in the postgame. Nothing big, though, basically the same as the 'ask a mage about X' stuff that provides some minor exposition.
