Yeah in the tabletop if you get too many mods you have to check for your sanity etc. It's actually kind of neat, not really surprised other tabletops in a similar genre use the same system.

Now I remember robot man was kinda good at drones but I always rather bring the zombie samurai in till the brother learned full auto because full auto rapes the Shadowrun games. The Bravely games have always been rather bloodthirsty I find. Like...you basically straight up explicitly kill almost all of your foes. This would be fine, but they also go out of their way to make the villains kind of interesting and dynamic and personable. Half of them in the first game were genocidal maniacs, but in Second it's a bit less black and white, and even the really murdery ones are kind of charming. FFV has a lot of people dying but it's usually sad deaths of old heroes, and the enemies you kill are just monsters and really evil people. You don't have to slaughter a Blue Mage who is creating horrible chimera monsters to research a cure for his daughter's cancer just so you can wear his clothes.

You don't actually end up killing all the foes in Bravely Default though. Some of them just slink off defeated, especially when you meet the nicer versions.
