Took a surprising amount of effort to trigger this but it seems like it'd be easier to run into accidentally on your first playthrough when you're a lot more likely to die.

Here's how I triggered it twice: After opening up the front gate of the cathedral, the "shortcut" to the boss door, but before opening the bridge to Rosaria myself, I homeward boned to reset the area then ran back there through the newly opened door and "Siegward" is waiting there by the bridge.

If you've already killed the giant he admonishes you for it.

The resistance to having eaten Nito I can sort of understand, but Priscilla? You'd have to be literally blind.

What would be a good infusion for the Drakeblood Greatsword. I still dont really understand the math on this one.

I never even considered that Aldrich ate Nito. How does that begin to make sense? Didn't Nito die hundreds of years ago or something?

I disagree with the Priscilla thing, mostly because of the lack of presence in the bossfight. The miracle/weapon disambiguation is a good one too - the dude ate a god, I'm pretty sure that he can make a miracle from a dream. The game is so up-front about how he totally ate Gwyndolin so there's no reason to be coy about this.

In the DLC we'll finally meet Patches the Primordial and he'll reveal that he's a multidimensional being overseeing the cycles. :darksouls:

Whoa! You're gonna be a legend!
Sometimes, man. Sometimes pvp or even just multiplayer in this game gives you something really special.

So I'm running around Lothric Castle looking for a mimic I missed when my darkmoon cov activates and I get sent to help a dude out. Ok, fair enough so far. I zone into Archdragon on the big slope where you need to perform the gesture at the very peak in front of the giant dragon. I see a host, and a phantom, and an invader and charge forward...

The invader is wearing no armor and has a pickaxe out. He's totally ignoring everyone and swinging that pickaxe for all he's worth at the stone boulders and statues.

I turn around. The host and phantom are also rocking the pickaxes and hitting nearby rocks. I just dropped into some kind of mining party.

Well let it not be said that I can't have a bit of fun. So I dig around in my inventory and find my own pickaxe and get in on this sweet boulder action going on here, and have a grand old time.

After a couple minutes of this the invader, who henceforth is known as miner bro, stops and points towards the rest of the map. He runs off down the slope and we follow. The host apparently used a giant seed because miner bro can attack the enemies, so the four of us merrily slaughter our way through the incidental enemies and escort the host to the bell lever.

As soon as we get there we're invaded by another dark spirit. Our miner bro walks up to him, and when the new invader gestures... he smacks him right in the loving face with his pickaxe. Fight breaks out between the two invaders! But the pickaxe is no match for a faster weapon and he's losing. Well gently caress that, I think, and wade right the gently caress in there and kill the new invader while miner bro is on his heels and spamming estus.

So now we're having a real party at the bell lever and spamming gestures. The host pulls the lever and gets ready to go in when another invader shows up. More the merrier for us, but when I wind up a L2 explosion with the moonlight greatsword... miner bro runs right into it trying to land a hit on the new invader. He goes down in a single blow to collateral damage.

I literally do this in front of my screen: :stonk:

The other phantom goes down; meanwhile I've hit collapse and I'm just sitting there while the host and the last standing invader spar a bit in front of the boss door. Eventually I get up when the host looks like he's having trouble, and between the two of us we kill the last dude. He walks off to face the Nameless King, and I return home... three ears richer.

But I feel really bad about one of those ears. I'm sorry, miner bro. :(

Edit: I just noticed those three ears got me right up to 30. What a way to finish.

I mean, Nito was already kinda-sorta dead when you fought him in DS1. Dude's a giant skeleton. You just stole his bit of the lord soul. Not out of the question that he would come back to "life" after a while.

I dont get how the multiple damage types work, or at least, Im told that the numbers are deceptive since each damage type has to go through a separate layer of defense. So with this weapon that has three damage types innately its pretty confusing as to which damage type or scaling should be raised.

where do you get "a bit" from? you take the entire lord soul after you killed him, much like you did everyone else. there's nothing to say that he, or anyone else, came back to life after you killed them. it makes more sense and has just as much confirmation from the game (ie, none) that aldrich either has his lord soul or just found his weapon somewhere and decided he liked it

I figure she's probably a Gwyndolin illusion ala DS1's Gwynevere. Kind of a "with my final breath I give thee life" thing? Her chime mentions that Gwyndolin gave her her name, so it seems unlikely that she's simply a Gwyn kid we never learned about before.

You could try them all out or just pick one, or don't even. The answer is basically dependent upon what enemies you're facing.

They each had their own souls they got from the flames(except 4 kings and Seath) and then when Gwyn went to link the flame he split his soul among them.

Invading has never been fair, but it has been a part of the game. In DS1 it was swayed too far in the invaders favor just as its swayed too far to the hosts in DS3.
I thought a good compromise would be to let the invader have their full health bar when invading instead of reduced, since you only have half estus.
