Should I have used Madoka as an example instead? Anything where a more mainstream person can walk into the room at the wrong moment, announce, "JESUS THIS IS KIDDIE PORN," and then storm out again. The point is Japanese TV at late night (regular channels, I know HBO is like wall to wall full frontal medieval dicks) is way more ...advanced... than American regular channels, and almost everything you are likely to watch on Crunchyroll is from those time slots.

Do you... do you need someone to help you?

Why would someone think Madoka is porn

If someone sees a young girl on screen and automatically assumes it's porn that says more about them than the show

To be fair, the OP kinda clashes heavily with the tone of show and features a nude Madoka for like half of its run time. But you're loving up if you're not watching the movies anyway

So quick question...been getting pretty into JOJO's, over the past 3 months I've gone through Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders and now am on Diamond is Unbreakable. Anyway, I am wondering if there is a list somewhere of ALL the music references in JoJo's? I want to make a massive playlist of songs/bands that are in order of chronological order of appearance is Jojos.

There's some old rear end ones that I always like to go back to because they look super nice and only list name references and whatnot, but there has been someone uploading some on Youtube p recently and since I'm sure almost no one here has a nico account, here u go:

It should go without saying the DiU one has spoilers in it

There are a few playlists like this on spotify... here's one: https://play.spotify.com/user/1228982515/playlist/4199w3632rwjcUG5C7raOh i guess this is a spoiler if you don't want musical references from parts 4+ spoiled though

Also the jojo wiki has a "List of cultural references" http://jojo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_cultural_references_in_JoJo's_Bizarre_Adventure obviously heavier spoilers than the spotify playlist. for all parts

That sounds difficult to do. Names that are references to songs will be simple enough to add to the playlist, but once you start getting into band and album references you'll need to start choosing just a selection of songs to represent the whole. At that point people are going to complain about your selections no matter how fair you try to be.

Those playlists already exist but it's fileshare to give them out so hands are tied.

The tone clash is definitely on purpose, but she's "nude" in the barbie doll sense. I dunno what kind of weird fetish porn deadly_pudding watches that he could confuse that with it.

Anyway have some exciting speculative part 4 animation from before Diamond Was Confirmed

I am so glad they went with the more "lively" palette. This is nice and all, but the crazy colors really are part of what make part 4 awesome.

I'm not the one confusing Madoka for anything. I'm referring to my ex girlfriend, who I attempted to show it to. What we're used to as modern anime is often not remotely acceptable to a more "mainstream" person.

I fell off message somewhere, apparently. I was mostly just trying to compare to how broadcast and cable networks in the US typically are showing old or unpopular movies and reruns of lovely sitcoms, instead of like envelope-pushing material for insomniac nerds :v:

Random question, but what's with the Elvis hair? Isn't that the sort of stereotypical Japanese high schooler street punk look? Kuwabara in Yu Yu Hakusho had the same look, where does that come from?

It's exactly that. It's like a street punk stereotype hairstyle from 80s or something, which is why people are likely to make fun of Josuke's hair.

Yeah, it's less a thing nowadays but pompadours used to be strongly associated with the delinquent/punk stereotype. That's why characters tell Josuke he shouldn't wear his hair like that if he doesn't want trouble.
