I'm of two minds about this. The cautious optimist in me thinks that the voting trends/polls/common sense clearly show that Hillary is going to be the next president. The other half of me remembers 2000. We're basically one debate where Trump doesn't sound like a crazy person from drinking our own tears. We've also been counting him out since he descended that escalator.

Ted Cruz is the personification of evil across all American history. I wish Mark Twain could have met him, so he could have had the pleasure of rolling him in pitch and turpentine and setting him on fire with the butt of a fine cigar, as was customary at the time. He had written about time travel, so there wouldn't be a lot of explaining to do before he got down with the auto-da-fé hoedown. Of course you can't do that kind of barbaric thing nowadays. Though come to think of it, it should be easier to get proper cigars for the ritual now that Obama has opened up relations with Cuba.

That'd put a wrench in his plans.

What i'd really like to happen is for the establishment GOP to approach Sanders and say okay if we run one of our guys as a third party you can also run as a third party and we'll have a 4 way race. Please tell me all about how this will never happen and how Sanders really and truly basically can't ever be president and I should just start preparing myself for the fact that i'm going to have to vote for someone who supported the invasion of Iraq. e: So I guess in a 4 way race the house decides? Nikki Haley, Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, and Paul Ryan are/were all names being floated for presidential runs or VP spots. Expect at least two on this this to run in 2020 is my bet. Ernst and Cotton may not due to them being up for senate reelection in 2020.

I mean, worse comes to worse they can always try to drag Paul Ryan kicking and screaming into the 2020 primary. Not that it would go any better than the last time he was on a ticket, but at least this time he could run as someone who's already an establishment leader.

Is Secretary of State Biden a possibility at all in a Hillary Presidency? I wouldn't see necessarily why they wouldn't offer it to him (pending him actually wanting to be in politics after being VP and with his family), it makes sense, but has there been any thoughts on why this wouldn't be A Thing?

Kerry hanging out a while longer would be more likely. Generally speaking, going from VP to someone's SoS would be unprecedented, and frankly the sort of Diplomatic role of SoS isn't really the kind of thing you want to send Diamond Joe to do, god love him.

I really don't think Biden wants to do it. He seems pretty intent on helping out his late sons family and quietly retiring from politics. He'd be a good fit, but I can't see him taking up a position that requires so much travel.

He's qualified, but I don't know if he's really interested in staying in politics after this term is up. I also don't know whether or not he'd like to be a part of a Hillary administration, it sounds like they disagreed a lot when they were both on the Obama team.

Yeah - true on the Biden's gonna Biden part. I'd imagine that he would be able to clamp that down as SoS (when as VP it doesn't have as much impact if you say an off the cuff thing because it's mostly domestic. I wasn't familiar with his relationship with the Clintons. I guess it's just me wanting 4/8 more years of Diamond Joe. By the way, I forgot if it was mentioned, but after the WHCD, The Onion did a Diamond Joe themed after party, complete with a 80's Trans Am parked on the Newseum sidewalk filled with porno mags, used condoms, Night Ranger cassettes and state of the union speeches.

So what kind of weird tripped out and Trump Tramp stamped RNC can I hope to expect? Will he spend most of it just having a victory lap around his former rivals just berating them and anyone who supported them for several minutes? Will he blow a few PACs trying to gold trim the entire building and insides? Will he make a lot of uncomfortable movements towards his own daughter when she's the hostess?
