The only way I can picture Clinton losing is if ever single debate she looks as bad as Obama did in the first one against Romney. Even then she'd probably still have a shot. Considering how well the Clintons know Trump that seems unlikely too. I can't see her getting caught flatfooted and hopefully she goes to town on him like Biden taking on Palin (or Ryan). Trump might try to throw Bill's history as a sexual predator at her but I can't imagine her not being ready and waiting to jump on him if he does. Shimrra Jamaane posted:To accompany my arzy map from several pages ago that already has Hillary at 270 in a near worst case scenario I present a map that is about 100 times more likely to occur than any Trump victory. In 2012 Romney won Georgia by a bigger margin than Obama won PA. I'm not sure why people think Georgia's going to flip unless I missed Trump give a speech praising Sherman. Until recently I lived in Atlanta for the better part of a decade. That might be a blue spot in a sea of red but the state isn't going to flip in this election unless Trump does something to seriously piss off Republicans. zoux posted:I dunno why everyone is so interested in this primary poo poo as Obama is undoubtedly setting into motion his sinister plan to be president forever. Trump is losing by near double digits in several polls of Georgia and Arizona. We need more before you can call it a battleground imo but there's evidence at least.

The problem is that the GOP already has serious trouble with women and minority voters, and their plan coming out of 2012 was to try to make the party more attractive to Hispanic voters in particular. That's why we all thought the Trump nomination was impossible. They basically destroy themselves in the southwest and risk creating more democratic strongholds in Texas.

Unzip and Attack posted:No one is comparing Hillary to Jeb Bush - what is being said is that "Trump can't win because he doesn't want to be President" is a dumb line of thinking because other people who did want to be President have already lost to Trump and that "oh yeah well the GOP are this and that" are not sufficient counterpoints that defend the original claim. Trump is the GOP nominee- saying "he doesn't want to be President" is not only dumb but meaningless at this point because he's one of the two people who will be in 6 months. What about "Trump can't win because he didn't plan to be to be president?" as in his lack of campaign experience, hostility towards the GOP establishment, and general impulsiveness means he's not going to be able to run as effectively as Hillary? O.K. maybe "Can't win" is a little strong, but how much of a struggle is Trump going to have just with the basic mechanics of running a national campaign? If I remember correctly his organization has been kind of a mess during the primary.

This seems like a serious problem with our system. Do Jill Stein and Gloria La Riva get intelligence briefings? If not, what is the threshhold? Did Ross Perot get them? It seems like on one level we hear 'meh political parties are completely private institutions who are accountable to nobody and can literally change their rules and just nominate whoever they want based on a cigar smoke filled room of billionaires', and at the same time they use a shitload of public resources and buildings to conduct official party business. Is the high school that hosted my caucus compensated in any way for it? What if I want to hold the Goon Party Primary there next weekend?
