Uber/Lyft HQ are tone-deaf as gently caress thinking that buying an election with PAC money wouldn't backfire in the current political climate.

It is good the sketchy Tammany Hall shenanigans got the kibosh. It is bad that transit options in Austin past 11:30pm (i.e. when i often get out of work) are now way way more restricted unless I'm on 6th and Guadalupe on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday during the 30 weeks a year UT is in session. I'm hearing good things about GetMe though, but I'm only hearing them in the couple hours or so since the vote has been decided so I literally don't even know. Basically, I wonder what it feels like to live in a real loving city

Maybe if you and Uber actually focused on actually building a decent company instead of doing everything you could to get ahead of regulations, and burn the ones you couldn't, I might feel the tiniest shred of pity for you. Instead, let me enjoy your tears now that you burned all that money making annoying ads all for nothing. Will Uber be taking their ball and going home soon too? I hope so because I work in a kitchen that semi-regularly makes massive loads of food for Uber Eats and every goddamn time they want some of our Chili or Bison Hash to sell it's the biggest pain the rear end. I cannot wait to never deal with them ever again.

Cool. They can take their ball and never bring it back for all I care. I mean I know they'll be back in a month or two because Austin is a huge market for them. Which makes their antics even more childish and hilarious.
