If Mogami had gotten some more buildup as a character, it'd be a different story. But we've seen pretty much nothing from his point of view or life when not directly conversing with Shibata, so he's about as fleshed out as the dude with the scowly face who works at the cafe.

I mean harems can be a total crapshoot, take TWGOK for example You want waifu wars, that's some prime waifu war stuff. And the ultimate choice wasn't even BAD! I was more talking standard romance series with maybe a handful of main characters of both genders rather than a wildly lopsided harem or reverse harem situation.

If ch21 is the latest translated, it's only covered the first chapter of vol 6, and vol 9 is coming out in a couple of weeks. So closer to 4 volumes, I guess. Maybe it helped to read it all in one sitting, but I've enjoyed it so far, even if the rape (?) felt weird.

new chapter of Takane no Hana nara Ochitekoi!! Of the gimmick couple 4-komas I think this one is my favorite. The chapters are long enough it actually has room to develop the jokes and there's enough character progression that it feels like the plot is going somewhere instead of spinning its wheels. When it has 40 chapters and I'm totally bored with the premise that opinion may change but for now I'm really enjoying this one.

Regarding the "main love interest always has black hair, secondary interest always has brown hair", does anyone know why that is? It seems really bizarre to have such extremely consistent color-coding (to the extent where I literally can't think of an exception off the top of my head). Like, it's one thing to have a trope where the MC always ends up with a guy with a particular personality, but it seems really arbitrary to also always give him the same hair color (and most of the time even the same hair cut). Also, about the rape(?) someone mentioned in Dame na Watashi, would I be correct in assuming it's the standard "male love interest forcibly sleeps with MC" thing?

I wonder if the hair color thing has to do with light-haired guys usually also being more of a playboy or frivolous type (light hair because it's been dyed/styled) whereas the dark-haired guy is more serious or steady even if he's also simultaneously an rear end in a top hat. Most of the time I just see hair color and style as a way to distinguish between characters when you've got a larger cast of guys and artists that often have tendencies toward sameface, and just wonder if it ends up that way because the first guy who got drawn defaulted to black/filled-in hair and so the second guy to show up has to default to light/no fill hair to be different.
