I got disconnected as I was spawn camping a team with seeker rush so I figured it was karma of some kind. Also the world telling me to go to bed because I have work tomorrow.

Oh, alright. It's not only my connection that isn't working. Was going to be disappointed missing out on a splatfest, but if it's something else (servers?) then hopefully Nintendo can take care of it.

Nintendo is still doing maintenance work. This is probably the longest they've been offline that I can remember playing Splatoon.

For every Splatfest I'd been in, I'd be the sweatiest tryhard, ending up at 25+ winstreaks and even managing to get into the Top 100 once It's almost stressful at times So for this Splatfest, I just wanted to squid party all the way to Queen But now the servers are under maintenance Is this karma???

I forgot what the x0 thing next to start-of-match Squidpower does -- when you continue with your Splatfest team and the number grows, does it influence anything or is it just an indicator of how many times the team has chosen to continue playing together?

Splatfest power matchmaking is so radical, maintained my % winrate the whole way through and only took about 3 hours

How long has a win in splatfest been worth 6 points? I was getting ready to play from 11 to 4 or 5 in the morning because I thought I'd only be getting 5 points per win, not 8. It only took me like 3 hours

Lol. I guess the hacking secret is public now. He'll get banned hopefully. Nintendo has some checks for this stuff. He changed the code of a weapon to spam different ink pattern packets. To cover the stage instantly.

Me using a roller during Splatfest: Raise roller (usually Krak-on), get splatted before ink can be tossed Everyone else using any roller: Raise roller, take ten hits, fling ink perfectly, leading to mutual tradeoff

Made it to costume queen. Started at 1400 last night, ended up at 1514. Not a lot of network issues this time! I didn't have any disconnects (that affected the game, at least), and only a couple of noticeable lag issues. There's a definite jump in competence once you pass 1500; 1514 is as high as I got, and I basically hovered around 1490~1510 all day. All in all, had a fun time.

That was by far the smoothest Splatfest I've attended. No drops for me (usually I'm good for four or five), only one game wasn't a 4v4 (maybe they got pulled over to that 5v4 match?), and either I'm finally accepting the laggy silliness or it was toned down. Dynamo roller is excellent for this map set.

Big winning streak leading to big losing streak as I crawled to Fancy Champion. King's never been a goal of mine as of late, just not worth the investment.

Welp, I maxed out my level at this splatfest, and I actually got a winning record this time (starting at 990 and finishing at about 1070-1080). I've found that I had a lot of success with the Aerospray RG. The other aerospray's ink mines seem pretty hit-or-miss, since it seems like enemies are easily able to dodge them even if they run over them. Seekers, at least, are good for getting deep into enemy territory to lay an ambush.

My favorite part of Splatfest was getting a disconnect after the timer ran out, but before the results screen came up. We won by a landslide, but it still counted as a loss.

This was the first Splatfest I was free for in a few months and it was honestly the best one both connection wise and game wise so far. I may have more pride in becoming a Burger King, but this was indeed a good day to splat.

As far as the 5 vs 4 was concerned, I was on the 4 side. It was complete chaos once the we hit the 15'ish second mark and the specials were reached, as expected. We somehow ended up winning the game, though barely. At the beginning, the 5th player sort of spawned off-center from the pad, right next to the left-front player relative to the camera as if both players were pushing each other off the 4th spot. The repeat-player indicator showed 5, indicating that all 5 players had continued from the last game I believe? It leads me to think that the game had somehow thought that the 4th player had quit and had found a replacement during team setup, but the 4th player actually stuck around. It might be that the game can't forbid people from joining if they were presented with the option of sticking around with the same team, but there's a rare condition where the game thinks that a player is missing. If that's the case, the 5-team could continue indefinitely until someone disconnects or otherwise quits.
