As an Onodera fan, I still, still cling to the tiniest of chances here, for two stupid reasons: 1. Raku's mom pretty much said in her musings that Chitoge isn't the promise girl, and a satisfying narrative end would have Raku confess to someone, open the locket, and the rings (or whatever) inside would be for that particular girl because *~faaaate~*. Raku confessing to Chitoge and then opening the locket to find a ring for Onodera would be beyond awkward. 2. Shuu's "who would you like to share these cute happy things with" test. Somehow I don't see Raku thinking of Chitoge, the girl he's squabbled with for three years, over Onodera, the sweet girl who just last chapter said she'd never leave him. On the other hand: a different satisfying narrative ending would have Raku pitch his locket and all the keys into the ocean and then confess to whoever he wants, because gently caress you five-year-old me. In which case, never mind.

Did the 2nd season made the manga sell well enough to guarantee that they animate this until the end? I honestly want to see Shaft animate something that isn't Hidamari / *gatari until the end. These last few chapters have been so loving boring (aside from Ruri x Shuu chapters), but I wonder if some Shinbo magic (or whoever actually directed this show while Shinbo snorted whatever drug he's into off Nisio Isin's rear end-crack) could make it work.

Meh. I can't picture them writing an ending to this that won't suck. Glad it's finally getting a bullet. Note that I didn't say that I can't picture an ending that won't suck. Simply picking someone other Tsunderilla or Boreodera would not suck. They just won't do it.

Next chapter is probably gonna be like 40-50 pages long, right? Please, Shueisha! Enough is enough. I know Bakuman was basically a documentary / cautionary tale for this kind of poo poo, and everyone knows the fake suspense is done on purpose, but c'mon! Let it end! Unless Claude harms Raku for real and he gets crippled or some other unnecessarily grimdark poo poo. Not unlike School Rumble
