It's for a very large fortune 500 company downtown, but remember this is the place that requires a tie everyday. Also I was looking at a robert half salary guide and 47k is about average for the area, well according to them anyways.

I haven't seen their numbers, but caveat emptor: any headhunting company is working very hard to convince you that you're underpaid and undervalued.

Thanks to those who recommended pre-check to me. Granted the regular line wasn't obscenely long, but it took me less than a minute to get through security just now.

Also, uh, 'entry-level' consists of words with meanings, guys. 'We require everyone to have 4-5 years experience in a similar role' is not that meaning because that means you have to have already entered, half a decade ago!

Like, I have to wonder if this was some kind of troll.

Sounds like an H1B excuse. We tried everything to find a competent, local talent, but there was no one qualified! We have to hire someone from overseas!

Well most jobs here have ridiculous requirements if you take it as a "must have all of these", no one has advanced experience and certs in completely different fields.

I needed a job right the gently caress now, and ended up taking something that was less than optimal(gently caress contract work). I still followed the rule of going for jobs just a little out of reach at my current skill level so I have room to grow.

I just can't belive AWS seriously has DevOps certs now. What a joke.

edit: the 3 I have were from a job that required, and paid for, them.

edit 2: anecdotally, my first Tier 1 job outside of the Navy was $24/hour. Granted, it required a secret clearance. It's also the one that paid for those certs.

Who will win the greatest battle of them all?

Believe you have to clear both a developer and a sysops certification to even qualify, and it sounds there's very few people worldwide who have the pro level AWS certs (or I guess all 5). My understanding is that some AWS partners have to maintain a certain number of certified people on staff.

e: under 1,000 for pro devops and slightly over 2,000 for pro solution architect,if anyone cares

Yes but I'm the lovely mail server.

Not pictured is 60-70 users each with a full year's worth of email trapped in their queue because MX records are hard. No SPF, SSL cert, PTR, etc either.

There are forwarders set up so that mail hits the old server and is forwarded to office 365 appropriately. Except a copy of the original message remains trapped in the queue, forever.
