The mayor of Rio has dismissed calls for the Olympics to be cancelled or postponed because of the spread of the Zika virus. A leading Canadian public health professor last week said it would irresponsible to go ahead with the Games with the virus so prevalent in Brazil. It has spread around the globe - declared a public health emergency by the World Health Organisation - with concerns that infection among pregnant women can lead to birth defects.

But Eduardo Paes told Sky News visitors to Rio this August would be safe.

"There is the issue with pregnant women and this is something we need to take care of but I don't know anyone who's got the Zika virus and I know a lot of people so this is not a big issue." "Dengue fever, which we have in the summer time every year, is much worse than the Zika virus and nobody talks about Dengue fever."

The IOC announced Tuesday that 31 athletes in six sports and from 12 countries could be banned from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after their doping samples from the 2008 Beijing Games came back positive in retests.

Here is the Q&A,

Could be more that get kicked since some of the re-tests aren't done yet.

You have to wait until the China bids for the next Olympics have already been wired :)

Then you turn the screw and hit them up for more.

Go ahead -- just try to get away with it. If you're willing to take the risk, you'll pay the price.

That's the challenge laid down to drug cheats thinking they can dope their way to success at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

International Olympic and anti-doping officials are implementing the toughest drug-testing program in Winter Games history, using intelligence to target athletes and events considered most at risk.

WE GET IT. YOU LOVE GUN JESUS. Toujours des fusils Bullpup Français.
I'm now fully expecting 80%+ of the athletes going on a steroid binge in the next two months so they get banned from competing in the Olympics because they do not wish to get infected and spread the contagion to their homeland then die 5 years from now.

Or maybe then everybody is hopped up on steroids and forced to compete anyway and it turns into some of the most :krad: games we can ever get.*

As a reminder, steroids are more effective than weight lifting. You can't possibly compete without being on the hot sauce.
