Is there some new rule about 3-spoke wheels in modern cars? I swear they all look the same with the bottom spoke having the exact same gap and the button placement being identical. I guess it's a solved problem and this was the solution?

If by 'rule' you mean fashion trend then yeah. Every car has to have the same buttons on the wheel nowadays to keep up with the joneses and there's only so many ergonomic possibilities offered by two meatgrabbers and one circlehoop. Citroen are still doing crazy poo poo FWIW.

Truth. We used the money we could have wasted on a huge wedding for a down payment on a house instead. Had a small intimate cheap wedding that was awesome.

Bringin' it back to construction/contractor being annoying chat: They've been replacing the water mains under the streets, and other road updates in front of my apartment (read: small historical downtown area, so RIGHT in front of my windows) since the middle of winter. Once they woke me up at 3AM in subzero January temperatures because they started working and operating loud, heavy machinery. Or they were still working from the night previous. I was so confused and baffled at the scenario and was CONVINCED that my phone was just being retarded and not displaying the correct time. That only happened once, so I'm assuming that was a big no-no and they got in trouble.

I've never lived in a city where it's legal to do any kind of construction near a residential area at 3am, unless it's an emergency (broken water main, downed power lines, etc). Dallas restricts construction to 7am-7pm Mon-Fri and 8am-7pm Sat (no work allowed on Sun, but a lot of people ignore that).

Wrar posted:Wedding industry is a scam, gently caress spending that kind of money on a ring. Get something that looks pretty. We got boss wood rings from Northwood Rings. My coworker got a set five years ago and they're still holding up OK. He crushed the ring (with his finger in it) between a clothes washer and a wall stud, and they took the ring back, fixed the crack, and threw an extra layer of wood and clear over top of it to strengthen it in the future. Plus if you bridge a battery with this ring it won't take the finger off. Would absolutely go with these things again. I pocket mine when I'm working on a car or with hard tools, but I would probably do the same with a metal ring. The only additional maintenance is an occasional (weekly) treatment with wax that they give you.

Ring chat: I'm pretty sure we spent a hair over two thousand for my wife's engagement+ wedding rings, and around 3 or 4 hundred for mine. We want to replace her engagement ring's stone (currently tourmaline) with green sapphire (much more durable) some time down the road, but that's an expensive proposition.T-Square posted:Bringin' it back to construction/contractor being annoying chat: They've been replacing the water mains under the streets, and other road updates in front of my apartment (read: small historical downtown area, so RIGHT in front of my windows) since the middle of winter. My money's on something went wrong and they had to get something functioning at 3am or else people wouldn't have water. No one in their right mind would be doing utilities work at that hour unless it was an emergency (or the work had to be done in the middle of a major interstate).

Crazy that OKC's rookie coach seemed to be the missing piece they needed. They destroyed Golden State and made them look just plain bad. Speculation is that Curry is still hurt but it doesn't seem like it would matter much anyway. Golden State's record regular season won't mean all that much without a championship.

My parents went with basic no-frills gold rings when they got engaged, and they used them as wedding rings, too. There's absolutely no sense in going into debt for jewelry.

Always go cheap on the rings. Go use the money for something worthwhile. Cycling chat : Just backed up 140km yesterday with 141 km today https://www.strava.com/activities/587217782 - high ave speed surprised the gently caress out of me as I've done 656km in the last 7 days, let alone backing up from 140km the day before. Started this week hot with 287km so I'll have a good go at seeing how close to 700km for the week I can get. Still, 656km is pretty drat good and 100km a week more than I have done before. (124.4, 52.7, 140.4, 51.2, 143.3, 143.8)

I intend to make the ring. Actually, I should finish reading up on precious metal casting sometime. We are pretty much set on debt (my house and our 9 cars are paid for, her student loans are half gone and I'm about to nuke my last) and she thinks expensive weddings are silly. Will probably never go into debt unless we decide to build another house. Now that I have replaced the rear struts in the Justy and Forester, I kinda want to do the front ones in the Forester and the rear shocks in the Roadmaster. They sure need it and I bought the parts long ago for the Roadmaster, just been putting it off because she hasn't ever driven it with good struts and keeps saying they are fine. Should be a bit of a surprise when they suddenly work great.
