Yeah, Morioh is based off Araki's home city of Sendai in the 90's (Kakyoin is also the name of a town in the Aoba-ku ward of Sendai) and you can he really loved it as Morioh is such a good location and is honestly a character in itself.

I like when the conversation turns to the Fist of the North Star inspiration topic when Fist of the North Star itself was inspired (at least aesthetically) by Mad Max. It's all one big chain of people making stuff like the stuff they liked.
