Since the government agents only killed one man, somehow that one man must have done something super heroic to prevent it. What that act was, they have no idea, but it must surely have happened. If he wasn't, that means they'd be wrong about the government and possibly their rebellion, so that can't happen. Since he's nice and dead, he can't do anything to disprove this idea, unlike those Bundys who happen to be captured and held in humane conditions (they didn't win or fight to the death like real heroes SovCits want), so he becomes the icon to focus on. The more reality fails to agree with their belief, the harder they dive into it. Reflection is just too painful to face for them.

He was looking for a rental place to store some literal artillery and mentioned some pretty strict requirements for building security and access control and stuff.
