mcmagic posted:They just reprinted Dismember but the others are a great start. Aven Mindcensor too. They reprinted it in a set sure, but its an easy slam dunk especially if it got some decent new art. You don't even have to go for every expensive uncommon/common. Imagine a new lightening bolt with some cool new art. Wild Nacatl? I feel picking exciting commons/uncommons for these promos is like the easiest task ever and it surprises me how they can gently caress it up.

Honestly, I'm not unhappy with Sylvan Scrying and Spatial Contortion. I mean yeah they're not exciting price-wise, but they're multi-format playable cards that are an affordable way to spice a deck a bit. As far as promos go, that's not bad. I have no idea what wizards is thinking with poo poo like clash of wills and crumbling vestige though.

Contortion is fine, it sees a smattering of play in standard and modern. I'm not sure how stuff like vestige or orator of ojutai gets approved. Edit: actually, looking at the list of past fnm promos they've been about 75% commonly played standard cards, which isn't too bad. These recent ones just feel pretty bad and it isn't exactly hard to make sure everything is going to be exciting and playable. Balon posted:Why not some or the more expensive, difficult to obtain EDH uncommons in honor of EMA? Scepter is in EMA. Dismember was both in MM2015 too. I thought Probe was in there too until I looked it up, I guess I just have 10 from old drafting. If they are going to reprint uncommons for Modern, do Terminate, Inquisition, Chromatic Star, Finks, and Helix.

That's the try hard rule; the try harder rule is to use as many mismatched arts as possible alongside white borders, lands in front of creatures, YuGiOh sleeves, and a My Little Pony playmat to make your opponent as on-tilt as possible without doing anything actually against the rules.

Don't forget to play your cards facing your opponent, and study the battlefield for 5 seconds each time your opponent plays any spell, no matter if you have an empty hand before saying "it resolves." Also, play your deck in the ultra pro magic card back sleeves upside down, so that it looks to your opponent like your hand is oriented wrong.

It's just so lame when you have Meren a few boxes over whispering of untold secrets and reusing the same spore frog forever, or Ezuri getting a whole gang of value guys together and one of them hulks out. And Anya somehow is even duller. Mazirek Kaseto, Karlov, and Arjun are all unique in some way. Anya is #182.

And for me, even with the interface oddities and bugs, Mtgo is preferable to playing in person unless its with my friends. I hate card stores. It is gross that Wotc charges, and people will pay, paper prices for pixel cards that can be spun up infinitely at no cost.

They could run a different freemium model and still make bank. Some here have mentioned a subscription with access to certain things (X drafts a week, infinite access to the card pool). The problem with that it is makes everyone's cards literally worthless. I dont mind (I have a modest MTGO collection) but I'd hate to do that to someone. little munchkin posted:Imagine using the phrase "initial investment of 300$" for a computer game lol
