Are we done yet? He's gone... can we maybe talk about something libertarian in the thread? The Libertarian Party has a nominee and Hillary vs. Trump would have to be the shittiest election yet. I've noticed in the polls that there's a consistent 10% that just won't take a side... will a third party like the LP capture them, stay home, or hate themselves and vote their party anyway? Johnson/Weld... so two govenors. That's a plus, but two "former" Republicans only fuels a part of the LP that want's to be unique little snowflakes and hate the connotation that the LP is the home of failed Republicans, "Republican-lite" or Republican's that can't put down their joints. I personally would like to tell those purists to get bent... because that's kind of where I fit in and pretty much anyone ever supportive of Ron or Rand Paul. Either way I'm looking forward to generally being hated on all sides, Republicans and Democrats both telling me I messed up the election and arrogant Libertarians telling me I ruined their party... and probably goons mocking me for how are we going to live without or fund ________.

I think it does say something that the closest thing to reasonable candidates the party was able to dredge up are a couple of warmed-over Republican cast-offs, frankly. Do you have any strong opinions about the Civil Rights Act, state-mandated driver's licenses, or the legality of selling heroin to five year olds?

the problem with libertarianism as a political third way in america is that you're either a libertarian-lite and you're prone to voting for one of the main parties depending on your other politics or you're a full on ideologue in which case the libertarian party is more of a containment zone for extremists like the green party. like there just aren't enough committed, moderate libertarians to make the party less of a zoo
