Frequently people wanting to do something like plug unamplified speakers into an unamplified source and trying to make the wires fit.

The more amusing ones were random things like USB to RJ11, RG59/coax to RCA, 110vAC 2 prong straight to a barrel connector (they didn't want a bulky expensive AC to DC adaptor) and one time 1/4" stereo to PS/2 for reasons I never learned because the guy got defensive and mad when I asked him what he was trying to connect to what.

People really seem to think that they can make any two devices work together effortlessly if only they can find an adaptor to make them fit together.

I used to work in a hardware store and around Christmas people would want male/male or female/female electrical adapters for their Christmas lights because they strung them up the wrong way. There's a reason we don't sell those, guys: they aren't made because they're extremely dangerous and you will burn down your house and/or electrocute yourself.

No joke, one time Harbor Freight had a coupon for a FREE LED flashlight, no purchase needed (limit one per day). My dad went crazy and went to three different HFs for the two weeks the coupon was good for and now every goddamn room in our house has six of the drat things.

They manage to be blindingly, obnoxiously bright if your eyes are even theoretically in front of the LEDs, while only being of so-so brightness when searching in the dark.

Do we have a "PYF Tales of Dads" thread? This is wonderful.

They do make male/male extension cords. A very common use for them is to plug your generator into your house. Which is completely safe as long as you trip the main breaker on the panel.

Reminds me of a rainbow box from back in the days of phreaking. It was a phone cord with a powercord spliced into one of the lines and a switch. flip the switch and it burned out everything between your computer and the target(upto and including your modem).

Its an old school hacker site, I would surprised it it hasn't been flagged.

Google says its clean: https://www.google.com/transparencyreport/safebrowsing/diagnostic/index.html#url=elfqrin.com
The site I see Barracuda people use to show status says its not: http://www.malwareurl.com/listing.php?domain=elfqrin.com

Enter at your own risk, just like yahoo.com, which has been flagged a few times

The new Doom game, by the way, not only references this comic (within seconds of starting) but may have based a prominent gameplay mechanic on it.
