this is a funny bit from that nyt articlequote:By December 1990, when Mr. Trump needed to make an $18.4 million interest payment, his father, Fred C. Trump, sent a lawyer to the Castle to buy $3.3 million in chips, to provide him with an infusion of cash. The younger Mr. Trump made the payment, but the Casino Control Commission fined the Castle $65,000 for what had amounted to an illegal loan.

Slowly, everyone in the room, supporters and press alike, all start singing with him, and all the people at home and rallies across the nation, republicans and democrats and independents all start humming along to the simulcast, and right when the chorus finally, hits every man woman and child in the nation tearfully yells out, "HOLD ME CLOSER TINY DANCER. COUNT THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE HIGHWAY." That's an odd way to say 'throws an epic tantrum, blames the audience while foaming at the mouth, storms off the stage, and then has a massive coronary.' November 1st is when they'll start talking about how many spouses/girlfriends he has beaten and/or how many of them aren't 'white' in the Republican definition of the word.

You're all pathetic. trump hasn't cost a single republican member of congress their job yet, unless you count the only one he endorsed losing a district that was drawn to kick her out of congress even in november he'll probably only be responsible for cutting their majority to an even less workable margin edit: admittedly the senators will probably be pissed about having to go in the minority for two years (until the anti-hillary midterm wave on an extremely-republican friendly map very likely gives them their majority back in 2018) but without looking things up off the top of my head id guesstimate the democrats have to get like +9 in this election to have a midterm-safe majority which seems unlikely the hundreds of gop legislators in dc who really embody the gop at the national level are much more resilient than most people give them credit for, in spite of everything they do to try to reduce their own job security, and their state-level equivalents even more so oystertoadfish fucked around with this message at 21:37 on Jun 11, 2016 |

Trillions, if it's going to be the bestest, most bigly and beeeyutiful wall ever.

expert estimates put the price of A Wall in the 20-30 billion range, but Trump has talked about the thing like he wants to build it 50 feet high, "huge and beautiful, with a door in it" so realistically the stupid thing will cost at least 100 billion just in construction, and then that much again every year to fix all the holes the cartels blow in it for fun and damage from the thing eroding away in the empty desert, several billions more to build a bunch of cargo-capable roads or railways through the massive portions of the border that currently have neither so anyone can get there in the first place, probably at the least a billion or two more to buy out all the private property that exists right along the border (unless the Trumpenreich just eminent domains it away, which if they've come this far is definitely happening) and then they've still got to pay human beings to either stand along this thing for several thousand miles or pay human beings to sit in a strip mall and pilot the predator drones that will fly along it it's not happening

The Trump wall would cost as much as our entire Interstate system every year, would provide absolutely no benefit to anyone, and would incite racial tension on a border that already has plenty of problems from all the guns we sold across it and the drugs coming back
