All they got now is dreams, man. No pay to win space sim; just infinitely refactored dreams.

I dunno, some of the mobile phone games are getting pretty ridiculous.

One of the 3d combat ones, you can grind for like a week to get one red inventory item (of which you can equip like ten) or you just pay money for a chance at them. Then you can upgrade them with a chance to fail, so that anything above +20 has less than a 1% chance of succeeding and costs 2+ days worth of in game currency to even attempt, per item. Or you can pay $40 to have it succeed every time.

The rarest pets either take weeks of in game currency / time to grind for, or you can pay $100-$150 for one. Then to upgrade it past +16 you need an exact duplicate of the pet. And since there are 10 kinds you have a 10% chance, every few weeks, of even getting the pet you have to give it a +1, or you can pay $150 again.

So of course there are people with all items at +30 and +25 pets being smug in the chats about how awesome they are when their characters cost about $4000 and are completely worthless outside of a mobile RPG that will be forgotten in a year.

I tried another one that was a space RTS mobile phone game. You could grind for different levels of jewels to level up your captains. I spent a couple months playing it for free and had like a level 2 ultra rare captain and a few level 3 rare captains but doing multiplayer I'd have to go up against people with level 10-20 rare captains that cost probably $500-750 each and each fleet can have up to 9 captains. Of course these people would just sit in chat and tell everyone to learn how to play being incredibly smug the entire time.

The whales just got ahead of themselves this time and went all in on the expectation of being able to be smug pieces of poo poo that pay for validation before the game even existed.

Apparently it's also similar to seven other game's TOS. I would wager that it's just a basic template TOS that you use for your scummy game company

Yeah, I'll have to take another look. Instruction sets/architecture always have my interest. From MIPS and register windows to the Itanic (I actually wanted EPIC to succeed...I know grief) is all good stuff.

Craziest assembler I ever wrote was for a VAX 11/780. Slow as crap, but it was basically like writing BASIC.

That's what I was thinking. Funny thing is they sold out in 9 minutes. They could have charged $100 a ticket without issue. Although at that point I would expect a taco bar at least.
