Blacked out once. That was the last day I drank anywhere near that much.

I don't know what happened but I've become such a lightweight lately.

Last night I had one glass of wine and was pretty darn buzzed.

There was a period of about a month where my friends and I were obsessed with that stuff. Went through probably $200 worth.

I didn't get carded on my 21st birthday. I've always looked way older than I am. Cool when you're young, :smith: when you're not.

Funny story about drinking too much. I remember I was at a party a friend of mine was throwing at the apartment she lived in while she went to SDSU. Just a bunch of people drinking really, loud music, people in the pool with clothes on. I remember thinking that I needed to sober up for the drive home, so I grabbed the jug of Tampico which was half full, and chugged most of it. Turns out someone had poured the vodka in it, and I didn't notice.

I passed out on the floor of her bathroom. I remember her kicking me while I was on the floor at one point, yelling at me to get the gently caress up.

I got her back for that though.

I dated her for a year and a half

good luck out there in the hospital world

I have huge respect for folks who work in health care (a lot of nurses in my family and I've never met people who work harder and put up with more) but I've had enough bad associations with waiting in hospitals for any reasonable lifetime.

But they cut my friend loose after ruling out all the scariest stuff, so that's good.

There is a Costco in Southeastern Mass but it's like an hour away from the Rhode Island line. There are BJ's much closer to where I live but, nah, gently caress 'em. I've always found that the few things I want to buy in bulk are frequently carried by grocery stores anyway.

Going to a fancy-rear end work dinner in Newport today.

okay i dunno if there are any bug/insect nerds on here but like

this huge fuckin bug flew over my head in my kitchen and i can't find it which is freaking me out

at first i thought it was a wasp or hornet or a beetle

but it didn't buzz really loudly, if at all, which made me think maybe it's a moth? but it seemed to have a big stinger-lookin thing on it's butt??? and it was like maybe half the size of my pinky

goddamn i'm just gonna be holed up in my bedroom now like :tinfoil:

I trained my dog to kill large flies and moths if they are inside the house. She even knows to show me them, then take them outside and spit them out(though she eats them sometimes).

don't worry the house spiders will kill it.
unless you're the type to murder house spiders, in which case your comeuppance has arrived.
(Where do you live in general? That's going to help narrow things down)
*edit*

I tried the avocado oil when I made mushrooms. They were much better than when I'd been using olive oil but about the same as when I used sesame oil, maybe a little better. Thanks for the good advice Mrit.

Avocado oil is awesome for everything since it has a smoke point of a blistering 520F, highest of all commonly used oils(for example, evoo has a smoke point of 320F). It tastes buttery, and is one of the healthier oils around.
It's also hasn't been pushed by celebs much so it is still reasonably priced.
I showed my sister-in-law how to properly caramelize onions and cook mushrooms last week, she usually cooked them together(???) so we fixed that.

They're too crunchy, they're like shards in your mouth. I mean, you're eating shells and most of our diet is softer than that. I've only had the mealworm larvae coated in various powders and chocolate ants though, maybe some bugs are less terrible.
