Rod is the one that people actually use, because it searches spells. The continuous spell is basically required for the deck to be at all competitive.

It gives the deck strong disruption using their traps and monster effects to summon dark magicians in your opponent's turn. It's definitely the most meta of the new cards.

So, INOV features a new Synchro-enabling Trap that somehow escaped my notice when it was announced. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/King's_Synchro This thing is...pretty good? Obviously, being a battle trap has it's weaknesses, but...I still think it's okay? You can pull off some goofy shenanigans with it. "Oh, you're attacking my level 8 Synchro while I have a level 4/2 Tuner in the grave? That's cool, I get a free Quasar/Nirvana High now, thanks."

Yeah, I know, but look, it's got a perfect combination of effects! Stat boosts so the ships stand half a chance of killing something, makes them a Tuner so you can summon a level 8 with the token after battle. It's great! Hell you could use it on a level 4 Genex, maybe Genex Neutron which can search it in the end phase how about that, and summon Genex Ally Axel for the first time in the history of Yugioh.

Of course is important but that is kind of the basic play you can do with the spell. I'm very excited at how all the Aliens suddenly can be useful. Except infiltrator. Sure it won't be optimal but the face of your rival when you lock him down using Mars and Psychic would made it worth it. Oh, and the art is hilarious

Besides, Monarchs use Xyz summoning now. The Dominion build has fallen out of popularity in favor of the extra deck build. Barrier can hurt them just as much as it can help them.
