"NO SECOND REFERENDUM" SAYS - HOLY gently caress! DAVID CAMERON RESIGNS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXNV3Ad0qQ0 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh0ac5HUpDU - FINAL RESULTS: Moral of the story: NEVER accept pig blowjobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqFN3NJjhnU Somewhere in New York, John Oliver is crying forever. UK LEAVES EU FOR GOOD! LEAVE: 17,410,742 REMAIN: 16,141,241 382/382 declared BBC results The Guardian results - Britain has a bad track record of keeping isles and nations happy, two years ago they had to stop Scotland from splitting up even though they've always been loving with them for centuries, this year they got so pissed off of never winning a single Euro League, or a Eurovision since Making Your Mind Up, they decided "you know what, gently caress this" and now they want to leave the EU for good. In 24 hours, Britain has to vote whether they want to stay or leave the European Union, but if you're outside the UK, why should you care what we think? Mainly because it's fun for the rest of the world to watch us brits tear ourselves apart over it. Ladies and gentlemen, THIS IS BREXIT WATCH! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLQJVKP3YlM Several hours ago, The Telegraph ran an article on the current odds of the EU referendum. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/20/eu-referendum-poll-tracker-and-odds1/ okay maybe that doesn't show a clear view of which side's winning, but as you can see the UK are really stumped on which vote matters most. Let's weigh the pros and cons for either side. - VOTE STAY PROS - The purpose of the European Union is that all nations in the Europe continent are joined together so that: quote:People, goods, services, and money can move around the EU as freely as within a single country. Ironically, almost every other European country abandoned their local currency to start using the Euro (EUR) currency...except for the UK who still use the GBP sterling (and it's worth 30 pence more than the EUR in its current state). If Britain leaves, not only will they kick out EU citizens, but imported goods would have to jump a few hurdles just to ship them to the UK. So that would be a bit of a letdown. Also Britain gets a good rep for allowing immigrants into the country, compared to the US where they have to pay up if they want to stay in American soil. Please correct me if I hosed up on US border rules Of course the EU doesn't want Britain to leave, but so do other countries around the world like Japan, Canada, Israel, India, China, and America. Except Russia for some reason. Countries like Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Montenegro are now potential candidates that could be joining the EU in the future, so the UK might have even more integrated citizens in their country (for better or for worse, job-wise, but that would get too complicated) and we might even get some new Eurostar stations. http://ec.europa.eu/economy_finance/international/non_eu/candidate/index_en.htm CONS - Nothing personal, but sometimes the voters who want to stay might come off as a bit extremist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAgKHSNqxa8 Although I do like John Oliver and I think his segments are funny and makes valid points here and there, this one was very biased, and he doesn't even live in the UK anymore, so does he even have a vote or say in the matter? http://www.vox.com/2016/6/21/11989128/john-oliver-brexit-rant-postponed-uk Oh well at least he tried. This wasn't the only referendum topic he's covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YkLPxQp_y0 Even if Britain stays, how does that change the state of policies in the EU overall? Do the UK and Europe improve on their rules and regulations? Will they abandon the GBP for good? Or worse, will both parties do nothing and go back where they started like with Scotland? Unless the EU make some changes for the better to keep a strong bond with Britain, maybe this vote won't make any difference. - VOTE LEAVE PROS - The ones who want to leave feel they're losing control when they're partnered with other european countries, they feel UK laws are overruled by EU laws, Britain would gain independence and start implementing its own rules if it decides to leave. Britain would supposedly be allowed to do independent trade deals with growing economies and countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, and India without getting permission from the rest of the EU. http://news.cbi.org.uk/business-issues/uk-and-the-european-union/eu-business-facts/10-facts-about-eu-trade-deals-pdf/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/19/what-would-brexit-mean-for-british-trade/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36078092 One major point leavers bring up is the UK pays £350 million per week to the EU instead of the NHS, the vote could affect whether Britain can keep doing free health care or they'll have to start privatising hospitals. CONS - The £350 million per week claim isn't entirely true, it's actually down to about £248 million per week. Also the EU sent a budget of £4.4 billion to the UK last year. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/reality-check/2016/may/23/does-the-eu-really-cost-the-uk-350m-a-week http://infacts.org/uk-doesnt-send-eu-350m-a-week-or-55m-a-day/ https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/483344/EU_finances_2015_final_web_09122015.pdf#page=18 Leaving would presumably cut off connections and transport to other EU countries like France and Belgium, so bye bye Eurostar! One major downside is Nigel Farage of UKIP is supporting the Leave campaign. If you have no idea who he is, congrats on avoiding the general election last year. Nigel Farage is an extremely racist bigot who gets little to no love from anyone. You'd be wrong to say he's the UK version of Trump (because that's Sir Alan Sugar) but he does get an equally bad rep as him. He's far worse than Nick Griffin and BNP. Just to give you a taste of how loathed he is, watch him insult the audience during the BBC debate last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7DrRDro4So By the end of the debate, he was left all alone. To make matters even worse, one supporter murdered Jo Cox, an MP who supported the Stay campaign, this was a tragic incident that never should've physically harmed anyone and could make the Leave campaign lose the winning vote. - Well that's all the information gathered from both parties, what's Britain going to do next? Could they possibly screw themselves over? Find out on 23rd of June! as requested by A ILL BREAKFAST Junior Jr. fucked around with this message at 01:30 on Aug 31, 2016 |

I'm excited and am hoping they exit. I just want to see what happens. I've never heard a Brit discuss politics on American radio stations but I've heard 2 sound bytes from 2 diff Brits saying that they want to exit and comparing it to Mexico making laws the US has to follow. Lol.

If Britain leaves: I laugh at those dumb Brits for loving themselves over for a hollow grab at independence in an increasingly global world. If Britain stays: I laugh at those British pussies for not having the stones to go through with their threats. Instead choosing to sheepishly complain as the EU at large ignores them. Either way, I have a lot of abject stupidity to look forward to in the coming years!

Just one that was more integrated and more sympathetic to listening to American interests. So leavers shouldn't be surprised. I'm not so sure about how well the EU is going to do even if they stay.

I'm feeling something. I feel... like I'm a better person than an entire country just because it's possible that they might actually leave. This must be what UK citizens feel every day that Trump is a possibility as a US president.

Edgar Allan Pwned posted:Why is the EU failing as a whole? The EU failing is as simple as trying to form a financial "United States" without a federal government. You'd just have Texas using oil money to bully other states around and a disproportionate amount of imbalanced spending with no real control on any of it. There is no overseeing check and balance so it's basically every man for himself and different countries are taking as much advantage as they can of the rest of them, causing the poorer ones to explode and the middle tier ones to be slapped around and burst into tears.
