Any exit agreement will probably have provisions for visa-free travel. The bigger question is how to handle all of the British living abroad and vice-versa.

Can Parliament just choose to ignore the vote since the result is too tight, on the grounds that proceeding with the results could destroy the UK? Is that a thing?

They were mentioning that once you invoke article 50, time starts ticking and you have 2 years to complete negotiations. Someone was suggesting that maybe they wanted to start negotiating with Germany before they do that. Maybe even wait for French elections to pass and then negotiate with them. All before invoking article 50.
