since this thread's been bumped, before i forget the next k-1 tournament is on the same date as bellator dynamite 2 (lol), and i guess that's actually the night before in america?. it's probably going to be streamed and it's definitely going to be better than rampage vs satoshi ishii.

I thought K-1 was officially dead? Or is Glory still running it sort of?

Unfunny Poster posted:I thought K-1 was officially dead? Or is Glory still running it sort of? There are 2 different K-1s, K-1 Japan is very much alive and run by the people behind Krush, and they're the only kickboxing organisation putting on consistently good fights. It also helps that their 55kg champion is the most exciting fighter in the sport right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1JwfCivYGA

Really? I've thought the Glory events as of late were pretty good. I'll definitely check that out though since you can't have too much combat sports. Edit - Oh man I missed out on so much K-1 stuff. I remember It's Showtime buying them out a while back but stopped keeping up since when It's Showtime shut down I just assumed everyone moved to Glory or retired. K-1 is on tomorrow at 4am EST. No idea how to watch it but it's a pretty good card featuring another 65 kg tournament. Yes there was one like 3 months ago but it was great and this one probably will be too. PLUS: Takeru! and the stronger Urabe brother also have fights. http://k-1xkrush.com/sp/flash/index.html?sid=136&s=1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_in_K-1#K-1_World_GP_2016_-65kg_World_Tournament

hey european ingrates or severely unemployed americans: https://abema.tv/now-on-air/world-sports main card apparently starts at 4am EST, for now it's masato and co talking about how good takeru is and showing him effortlessly take down that guy while still holding his belt
|
# ? Jun 24, 2016 07:36 |
|
I'd watch just for the sight of Masato's handsomeness alone but as I'm at work I'll just be relying on thread reaction whilst I expertly lurk. Also that takedown with full belt control should be ESPY nominated.

I've decided to watch old Takeru fights instead and stepping into a bad angle to throw a hook kick is stupid as hell and incredibly fun

cool you don't even have to use hola, get the modify headers plugin and change the X-Forwarded-For value to a japanese ip and you can watch without loving around with other dumb bullshit. tournament is just about to begin. the prefight hype for this one was philip kimura battle rapping a topless version of himself on a greenscreen

bulaid is pulverising mauceri with liver shots
|
# ? Jun 24, 2016 10:15 |

and there's the stop, bulaid is a monster and his style favours tournaments. will be interesting to see how if yamazaki's seasoned enough to handle that pressure. noiri up next

ugly, ugly fight between glunder and noiri. glunder behind due to a yellow card but little else to separate them

kaew up next. bulaid vs yamazaki and winner of this fight (lol it's not going to be hiroya) vs noiri. everything looking up from here.

Kaew blasts Hiroya out in under a minute with 2 knockdowns. I've got a Kaew/Bulaid final

# ? Jun 24, 2016 10:54 |

Kaew is awesome. Wasn't Hiroya supposed to be like the new Masato, back when we had the old Masato and when Hiroya was a literal child?

Dalai Trauma posted:Kaew is awesome. yeah because he was "handsome" and his parents took him out of high school so he could train in thailand. then noiri, a spotty skinny kid with a triangle for a face beat the absolute poo poo out of him and hiroya grew up like the kid in star wars. i'm not going to post unpoilered results from now but bulaid/yamazaki has been great
|
# ? Jun 24, 2016 12:16 |

bulaid goes through to the final after a split decision in an extra round with yamazaki, both of them look exhausted and beaten up but bulaid has fresher legs. not expecting an easy win for either man in the other semi either, what a tough tournament
|
# ? Jun 24, 2016 12:26 |

noiri takes a giant knee to the groin, collapses face first to the ground, and the ref pats his rear end for several minutes. he stands and moves to the corner, and the ref continues to pat his rear end.
