Did you ever wonder where the Romans got bread from? It wasn't from Waitrose!

I'm :corsair: and that, so forgive what might be an out-of-touch- with- the- kids- these- days question, but do university students generally maintain the younger 'Yay! No more teachers/no more books!!!!' attitude during the summer break? I was hitting up jobs and intern stuff (if not taking a class or two) during mine.

On the other hand, yeah, I know, this is Luanne, where university is just a weird extension of high school.

And of course we're going to get to see their 'let's put onna show!!!' thing in July. Can't wait to see what Luanne comes up with; after all, she did spend a couple days in New York. :toot:

Rex Morgan can be frustrating but it's almost entertaining in what a black hole of suck it is. The only comics I can think of offhand that really piss me off is Six Chix, because it's sheer low quality in every area every day is revoltingly painful, and Gasoline Alley, because of what self indulgent old man prattling it is.

I definitely felt that way but would end up taking summer classes or getting a job or something. Usually there were a few weeks before any of that started where I could gently caress around and be an idiot though.

Pinky irritates me because he's Audie loving Murphy in a twelve-year-old's body. He never actually acts like a child, is never sad, scared, or overwhelmed, and is always doing the absolute bravest and smartest thing in any given situation. I mean, I completely understand why the child character in an action comic strip for children has these character traits, but it's taken to such an extreme. In the "haunting scam" storyline he was ordering an adult-rear end woman around and explaining to her the baby-level illusions being used while she was relegated to dating the bad guy and going "???" all the time and it's just, drat.

Somehow, The Creeps can reach even further than Pastis for a joke, and they can make it work even better. This was a long way to go, and it's great.
