What the gently caress is their plan? Hope corbyn resigns and doesn't re run in the event of a leadership contest?

If he runs again, the whole thing is pointless.

They're either not following the news or don't understand that market turmoil is a pretty good barometer for the real economy making GBS threads the bed not long after. Once prices rise and people start losing their jobs there will be mass anger and bewilderment that they were led by the nose into it. You can bank on it.

It's not that they aren't following it, it's more that they're following it but don't care. My dad literally said to me yesterday "I don't care about jobs because I'm past that" and of course he voted leave because of ~democracy~. The guy doesn't even know how the EU parliament passes legislation.

People with jobs mostly voted to Remain. Pensioners are not going to blame themselves, because people hardly ever do.

If they do get a vote on Corbyn he should nominate Clive Lewis to stand in his place he's a great choice and even though Corbyn would win he would be forever tainted by his moronic party.

Nope, afraid not. They will blame the government, sure, but they will be happy to do so because it's OUR government. There will not be one ounce of guilt or regret, I can guarantee you that.

No one has a plan about anything, no one expected this to happen, the ashdown poll details are fascinating. 10% of people decided to vote leave on the day of polling, probably thinking that it wouldn't happen and they could sit back and say "well I voted to leave...you should have listened to me" not realizing that it would happen.

I'm watching the Dateline London that was aired on Friday, and the two Brits are still pushing the line of "of course we will get the trade deals, the economy didn't crash, the US and EU still want us" and the French and Americans look like they want to kill themselves over how moronic the statements are.

I'm horrified at how blase people are about the loving pound dropping 10% against the dollar. BUT NO look at the FTSE100, it rallied and now it's almost back to normal, this has nothing to do with pounds being physically cheaper or anything

I remember the 2008 crash very well, and there were inevitable days when the market shot up hard, but overall the trend was the collapse that it was. There's a reason why "dead cat bounce" is a phrase.

The entire situation is even worse than it was on Friday. This week is going to make the Friday drops look like a light warm up.

before New Labour, there were the Social Democrats; my guess is that some people are putting careful thought into whether to back Tim Farron

it probably depends on what Corbyn does next. if Corbyn backs the campaign to defy the referendum, then it's best (in career terms, cynically) to stay with the ship. If he doesn't and the polling suggests that the wind might turn, then an adroit step orangewards might be attractive

He's justified it to himself as saying he wants to focus on the future of the country. His idea of focusing on the future of the country at a time of constitutional crisis is turning inwards & having a squabble among Labour MPs. What a loving genius.

Meanwhile Andy "Weathercock" Burnham isn't backing the coup. Is that good or has the weathercock once again misjudged which way the wind is blowing?
