Not sure what they plan this year since there was a big gem sale during Dreamhack. Chest sales?  Last year, they gave out 10 gems for first wins of the day. I didn't get much done yesterday because of how tryhard and toxic the games were that I were in (get first blooded, immediately rage quit). I'm really starting to hate the free gems on first wins and I wish there was another way. I was thinking about "God when was the last time we had an actual warrior that's supposed to build damage and attack speed." So it's kinda cool. He doesn't seem THAT powerful, but the dog is a nice damage buff.

Curse needed nerfed, and Hel makes me leery because she was highly effective in joust but worthless everywhere else. They overnerfed her way back, but they should have made her self heal stronger instead of her team heal if they wanted to make her conquest viable again. I'm a little unhappy about the golden bow vanishing act when they could have just reverted it to the season 2 version. I had some fun gimmick builds that just won't exist without golden bow, and I've been using those builds since season 1 with varying success. On the other hand, the current golden bow and hunter meta is unfun and turns the duo lane into a question of which duo has better CC so I completely understand just blowing up golden bow. The new god is going to take some time to look at and get tuned. A shield+dash, a massive heal in his ult, a root... he is going to be decently hard to pin down and kill once he gets going. The Guan change is hilarious and unneeded, and destroys the way a lot of late solo players used him as a machine gun healer in the middle of fights. Now he will just be a consistent drizzle of healing in and out of fights. I'm laughing pretty hard at how divided the community seems to already be over how this either turns him into a monster or utterly destroys him.

On the other hand, I really want to make the argument that most of these changes are for the better--that Arachne change in particular is downright elegant--but all my gaming time has been almost 100% Overwatch since it came out.

I don't think Guan was a complete buff. 30 stacks is going to be harder to get, and if you use the wrong ability it's pretty much gone. HE also doesn't get any bonus healing on anything other than max stacks. So it makes it a bit of a choice now.

Guan Yu's heal was a problem because of all the CDR he's got in his kit. Heal an ally -2s all cooldowns Dash through an enemy -2s all cooldowns Genji's - take magical damage -2s all cooldowns Spectral - use a relic -3s all cooldowns It doesn't matter that his passive is "harder" to stack, he's got more ways to utilize it now and a new item that lets him overcap CDR even more than he already does.
