Recently found out about Rawtekk, who are a dope husband and wife DNB duo from Germany. They're professional sound designers, doing work for sample libraries, commercials, etc. but they also produce DNB together and it rules. They put out a new album last month on Med School called Here's To Them.

Sorry to be a bother but I've been out of the world for a few years. I was kind of shocked to find that the Chemical Record Store is closed. Now that I'm back in I was hoping for some recommended UK/US online stores such as the aforementioned.

And maybe if you're feeling very helpful some artists along the lines of Calibre?

Many thanks.

For new stuff I've been ordering from Red Eye Records (http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk/) or Juno (http://www.juno.co.uk), otherwise I buy used stuff on Discogs, small orders if US-based (yay USPS Media Mail!), big orders if UK-based ("how many records can I get in the box at XX shipping rate?"

Check what's been coming out on Soul:r the past couple of years, and then check this discographies of some of the artists that catch your attention. Thinking LSB, some of FD's stuff. Also a lot of Ivy Lab (and probably Halogenix's solo stuff) and Alix Perez's stuff, it's split between different sub-styles & vibes, but there is some in the Calibre vein. Maybe some of Chroma's releases too.

Just gave the new album a listen, it's well produced but didn't really knock me off my feet. I've become really jaded with most mainstream (AKA anything released on Hospital Records) liquid D&B, so much so that I can't really enjoy it as much anymore. That aside, there is one stand-out track from the album: "Stay Here"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfD-Y3SWpOs

Really digging that minimalist tech-liquid style.

I'm part of Expansion Broadcast podcast and just had a mix go up today:

http://www.expansionbroadcast.com/podcast/696/

Sam Binga & Om Unit – “Planetary Reboot” (BUNIT002)
Glyphic – “Tunnel Vision (R4NS0M Remix)” (Detrimental Audio)
Soul Intent – “Move Your Body” (Commercial Suicide)
ArpXP & Reza – “When You Gone (ArpXP Amen Edit 2016)” (Metalheadz)
Mako – “The Narrator” (Metalheadz)
Cern – “Dark Before Dawn”
Glyphic – “Short Cut” (Detrimental Audio)
Mortran (a.k.a. Glyphic & R4NS0M) – dub#05
Mikal – “The Ruff Life” (Metalheadz)
John B – “The Colossus” (Metalheadz)
Hive – “Repentance” (Project 51)
Klute – “Arboretum” (Metalheadz)
TV On The Radio – “Staring At The Sun” (Touch & Go)

As for other mixes, I tend to grab shows off of Rinse FM's site (https://www.rinse.fm), usually the Critical, Metalheadz, and Dispatch shows. Icicle has a show on there, Youngsta plays some dnb, MC Stamina does a show, and Uncle Dugs has a bit of older jungle. I check the Critical podcast too, and DJ Flight has a podcast as well, The Next Chapter. I know Hospital has a regular podcast, and there might be a few others.

Just grabbed the album and giving it a first listen-through, really loving it. Extremely reminiscent of early-00s liquid (High Contrast, London Elektricity and Logistics) which is hammering my nostalgia centre.

In other news, DC Breaks new single is impressive as it's been meticulously written to be the ultimate summer D&B track:

Crosspost from the Toronto LAN thread:

Toronto promoters DNBDose and ForwardDNB just announced an absolutely massive booking touching down Saturday, September 10th:

Whether you're a dyed-in-the-wool junglist or just curious to check out the D&B scene, you don't want to miss this one. Stay tuned to the event page for important venue- and ticket vendor-related details.

What up dnb goons.

Some of the recommendations here put me on the right track, there's some awesome tunes out there, especially from the 90s which are right up my street.

The Invisible Man did some great tracks. Found a guy called Exocet who only released a few singles but one in particular - Demon Seed - was amazing.

More recently, 22 Months by KAI was loving great.

Technically D&B related:

https://twitter.com/Noisia_nl/status/793768694581194752

In other news Perth (Western Australia) continues to be an amazing place for D&B. Last month we had Insideinfo, Logistics, Neonlight and Ulterior Motive here and next week we've got Ekko & Sidetrack and Fred V & Grafix. In December DJ Hype, Annix and MC Daddy Earl are making an appearance and then on NYE Alix Perez, Calyx & Teebee, Chase & Status, Culture Shock, Ekko & Sidetrack, Ivy Lab, Pendulum (lol), Netsky, Noisia, Shockone and Wilkinson are playing at Origin.

There's a lot of lovely things about Perth but at least our D&B scene is massive.

Hey, thank YOU for listening! I'm flattered. :) Looks like the next one won't be as far off as I thought - problems with my songwriting computer mean that all I can do is catalogue tunes and mix for the time being.

Toronto's D&B scene is on fire lately. I'm really happy a lot of our local promoters seem keen to return to the 'warehouse party' aesthetic that this music was born in. Tomorrow there's the second installment of COMPOUND, a warehouse party with a massive soundsystem in an undisclosed location, with Total Science headlining supported by a massive local lineup going into the wee hours of the morning. Unfortunately since computer issues have sunk me financially, I'll probably miss it. The first one was outstanding, though.

In more international news, Kimyan Law's album Zawadi dropped today and it is faaaaantastic. Real heady experimental stuff in there. I dig it.

For fans of the more aggressive side, Bad Company UK have got a forthcoming release on RAM (I think it's out tomorrow) and it's pretty dope, as expected:
