This is always a good idea. Finding out what your friends actually support/believe outside of what made them your friends in the first place doesn't always (or even usually) make you respect them more. Unless you're gonna need to be interacting with your old college roommate frequently enough in the near future to make it worth establishing a common understanding just avoid it altogether and try to enjoy dinner while silently judging him and his wife.

Oh I meant a new one in theaters, we're gonna be out and probably hit a bar before we want to see some garbage on a screen.

That first movie was fun garbage.

Game of thrones is the most fun garbage.
Unlike the layer of Coney Island Whitefish, and garish flag draped beer cans that tourists from Arizona will spread across San Diego.

I'm going to play Fallout 4 all weekend, and write essays applying for scholarships I might get in the fall.

Winter is coming.

You're probably right on all counts. I read the steam description an judged it casually then made an unfunny joke.

40$ Though? Not to compare apples and oranges, but is it really five bux better than the new Doom?

"Down the road at the gun show, dozens of vendors lined up to sell everything from AR-15s to right-wing t-shirts. The thing that stood out most immediately was the Nazi flag on display. There were hot pink shotguns, confederate memorabilia, and many interesting tattoos on display. But nothing puts you on edge like seeing a swastika in public. I decided to give it a wide berth while I settled in to the environment."

It's interesting. I agree that nothing putting you on edge like a swastika in public. Is this Jacksonville Florida? Or North Carolina? I didn't catch that.
I like the idea of 'no platform' when talking about politics. Is NPR gonna pick this up? Seems like their bag.
Correct me if I'm wrong about the liberal content bias though. I mean, man, you hear immigrants talking about being workaholics contrasted with a guy talking about how 'the rebel (confederate) flag got a bad wrap', how can you not be biased? Or am I just conflating sane with liberal now? I cant even tell anymore...

Where's Baloogan to get probated for saying something disgusting when you need him?
I'm still frightened of catching microcephaly because of that thread of his. I heard a mosquito today and I could just feel my skull deflating.

well its got a full 3DS and Vita release as well and quite literally came out yesterday, so that's why it's $40.

Doom at $35 as part of the steam sale would probably be a better bargain if you haven't played the other games.

The first 2 games (999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and the sequel Virtue's Last Reward) are pretty good and ultimately build into the events of ZTD and cap the series.

the series is kind of a cult hit and yeah there is kind of the "Dude kidnaps you, subjects you to game" ala Saw type deal, though there's decidedly less self mutilation and more crazy murder as people start cracking and realizing that they're in the prisoner's dilemma and while everyone would be best off cooperating, we can't trust them and looking out for our selves is our best option and whoops someone just whacked me in the back with an axe

its definitely a game if you like that all of a sudden out of nowhere, characters get really nihilistic and meta-existential about how they survived an improbable event, but there may be another parallel universe out there that they died in and we shouldn't be so happy because God has forsaken us and only because an infinite versions of ourselves attempted this event that someone succeeded

(it makes more sense if you played the first game and got to an ending)

I feel like this game would probably be fun with more than just randos on the Internet but I'd have to coordinate with people and set up voice chat and then there's my wife making fun of me all night.......

Discord is basically the easiest way to do voicechat with strangers IMO.

The actively trying to form a group with goons is the harder part.

watching the aus election results, i've kind of realized that the actual process of elections is weirdly cathartic

like just watching all the little numbers roll in, seeing the swings reported, it's the political equivalent of candy crush

it just kind of fits
