I got salty on Piranha Pit but upon further review it's pretty good IMO. Still voted Founder Heights, though.

The only map I actually hate is Moray. If that ends up being one of the maps it's going to be a terrible splatfest.

This is a good opportunity to ask, what are everyone's favorite and most hated stages? Favorite would have to be Piranha Pit while my most hated is either Moray Towers or Urchin Underpass

I like Walleye Warehouse most and voted for that. Its straight forward and fun to flank from the sides. I don't really hate any map in this game which is a first for me in an online shooter.

Mackerel's the only stage where if I see it on the rotation, I'm like, ehhhh maybe I'll play in another four hours it's just so claustrophobic

I don't like mahi mahi very much. I used to hate it but my feelings have mellowed. The towers can be kind of lousy sometimes depending on what weapons everyone is using but they can also be pretty dynamic, with plenty of places to sneak past each other.

I really don't like Kelp Dome, because of its severe lack of verticality. I love Arowana Mall for the opposite reason.

Depends on the game mode for me. Also underpass has never agreed with me since the redesign. I assume it's the level's fault.

Rexroom posted:Vote for Hammerhead Bridge? Sure, it's a great stage! You're the first against the wall next splatfest. In terms of actual good stages though, I want to point at Floundering Heights, the Museum, and the Towers. Verticality is a cool thing you can use to your advantage, and these maps really highlight that. I can't tell you how many players I've seen that never paint a wall. Who cares if it doesn't count towards the percentage? You can make shortcuts, you can climb atop a high wall and rain down, you can kinda hide in the wall if you're careful. Lots of options. Honorable mention goes to Mahi Mahi and Triggerfish. Nothing in particular of note here, but they're both a lot of fun. edit - If someone is attacking you, climb a wall, jump off and land behind them, splat them while they turn around. Bluefin Depot is heavily reliant on your team mates. Subsequently it's a map where you'll most often lose anyway.

It has a death trap if you squid out of spawn and some weapon types have a hard time even moving around in it. It's a bad map.

I love loving around in walls and that's why Skatepark and Kelp Dome are my favorite maps, nobody expects it there. Especially in dome, the other teams right-side path out of spawn has the ramp to the grates and the ramp over the wall? Holding the back of that ramp to the grates is a license to kill absolutely everyone that comes down either of those lanes.

Rexroom posted:Bluefin Depot is heavily reliant on your team mates. Subsequently it's a map where you'll most often lose anyway. Man this one splatfest I had this squid on my team that would follow my ink trail down to the middle and we'd kill off the enemy team and take their mid, won every depot game with them. Octavian or Octavious or something like that, hell of a good player and actually understood that it's easier to grab a huge chunk of territory then back fill than doing the opposite so your special fills up.

If you don't learn to not go forward in squid form in Bluefin Depot after the first time you do it you should practice more.

Interest for a Turf War squad battle is light, so I'll probably not be organizing anything in particular. I'll be on a lot this week though, so if you see me squidding, join away.
