I think the republicans want to make Brexit work because Obama said Brexit was dumb and they all hate Obama therefore they think Brexit is good. Of course US wants Brexit. EU as a political regional superpower has been greatly weaken after 2008 financial crisis, the Brexit is a final blow to ensure EU is nothing a first tier superpower. A divided europe also let America manipulate the European geopolitic much easier through the NATO and IMF platforms. The President of US when dealing international affairs, always act in the best interest of US, it doesn't matter if it's Obama or a Republican president who make the deals..

As always in history, it is the burden of urban liberal elites to drag the uneducated yokels out of the stone age, at gunpoint if necessary. What I'm saying is Scotland and the English cities need to oppress the Midwest and North like Sherman did the South.

I clicked on a survey asking if Northern Ireland should have a border poll to unite; when it showed results for my region everywhere in the US was marked as in favor of a border poll except for North Dakota, which probably means one of the dozen people who lives there and also reads Euro news is a hardcore Prot. Ireland uniting would be the most exciting unification/secession in my lifetime since the two Germanies united.

They want to be free that bad just walk away and let the Irish folk sort themselves out. But the Orange lot wouldn't consider it and the government were hell bent on keeping it in. Perversely, the more bombs went off, the less likely the UK gov was to let it go. With Thatcher and Paisley dead now, maybe there's a chance.

Americans want Ireland to reunite so there will be one fewer country for them to fail to locate on a map. British people don't want Ireland to reunite because Ireland / NI counts for 2 out of the 6 countries they can locate on a map.

Looking at the last census in 2011, Protestants have fallen to about 41.6% of the population, compared to 40% who identify as Catholics. Presbyterians and Church of Ireland membership has fallen quite a bit, shadows of their former selves, and there's a lot more people who are atheist or secular these days, along with immigrants from Poland and other parts. The Ulster militias are largely made up of criminals these days, like actual drug dealers and gangsters who spend most of their time shooting at police and beating up immigrants.

As a non-UK citizen, is this plausible? "I've done my job, time to move on". Or is it true that the situation is so hosed up that principal parties involved do feel like they must step down or lose leadership votes? It's telling that the people who wanted to the Brexit don't want to influence the method of how it's done. Automatic Slim fucked around with this message at 10:40 on Jul 4, 2016 |

They can only exist to criticize and destroy. He's just smart enough to realize that it's all going downhill for him since he's out of things to destroy and now he has to build something instead (which he can't). Just watch it it will be the same gig with Trump.
