I think i wanna add a section with some instrumental/light vocal stuff since I've seen that question come up a few times, and i'd really like more rnb stuff but i don't keep up on all the lowkey stuff so much anymore. alansmithee fucked around with this message at 03:22 on Jul 4, 2016 |

Flockaveli is so great. It's consistent throughout and basically set the template for street rap for the next 5-6 years. Honestly every line in Hard on da Paint is a hook in itself.

here is your tl;dr for all new rap posts as long as streaming exclusives are a thing: hot album teased for release -> hot album turns out to be an apple music exclusive -> apple music sucks dick so only posters who use apple music can talk about album, other half talk about how apple music sucks dick -> monkeu calls people retarded because he works for apple public relations or something -> hot album loses traction -> repeat for next hot album

if you are surprised that streaming services keep getting brought up when 100% of rap releases are exclusive to one service or another i think you have poor critical thinking skills and a new thread is not going to help it!

here is my preemptive review of schoolboy qs new album: 2/3 good bangers tonally all over the place with bad track sequencing like every TDE album ever the album will be really long we'll think it's "pretty good" e: lol i just checked and its 73(!!!) minutes long

i'm not going to write it off yet but oxymoron was very disappointing and we know for a fact this new album will not have the track "man of the year" to keep it afloat even if "that part" is a nice song in its own right

That Part is weak as hell and the fact that Q openly admitted that the label forced him to add a "bootleg-rear end version of Studio" doesn't fill me with confidence. I'm expecting it to be better than Oxymoron but I've accepted that I'll never get the collection of wall to wall bangers I want from Q

I fear H&C is as close as Q will come to a perfect album, and that's unfortunate. As much as I loved Man of the Year and Collard Greens, Q is one artist who badly needs emotional ballast (like Blessed) to support his more aggressive and commercial tracks. I've read in a few places that Oxy was his commercial album, and for this release he's doing what he likes. I just hope that what he wants from his albums aligns well with what the community wants, because he's proven that he can deliver on a level above pretty much any of his peers, when he feels like it.
