Mr Bean is Awesome. Rowan Atkinson is/was a masterful physical comedian. I use clips of it in my ESL classes all the time, the kids love it. But for content: Happy America day to the Americans out there!

Without going in to too much detail, One of the things I do is show a clip and then ask the kids to describe what he is doing. "He is playing golf.", "He is at the hospital." etc. Or I can use it to elicit different adjectives. "Mr Bean is funny. Mr Bean is ugly. Mr bean is angry. Mr Bean is selfish." etc. Makes a nice break from teh stupid textbook they make me use. As another language teacher I can confirm that stuff like that has many uses in the classroom. Also for linguistic fieldwork, especially to elicit those crucial but hard to get at expressions for fine physical manipulation of things. The episode where he tries to get on his swimsuit without taking off his pants is a goldmine.

Yeah also, Mr Bean is really well-known all over the world. I taught ESL in Indonesia, and the kids there were fuckin' crazy about Mr Bean. He was the one piece of English culture that all of them knew offhand.
