Real life Game of Thrones spoiling the book is awesome. Book hasn't reached the War of the Five Queens yet. The IRL version already have Queen Merkel, Sturgeon, May? We just need Clinton take control of her house and maybe Eagle flay Corbyn and we will have a proper War of the Five Queens.

For ukip to have an ex-Muslim as leader, the Tories to have their second woman as leader, and for labour to have an old white dude. Just loving do it, let's go full upside down bizarroland. So I don't know much about this, being from the states, I heard that the "remain" people had or at least thought they had this in the bag up until pretty much the last minute and the result ended up being a fairly big surprise. So what happened that caused the big upset? I don't know much about the EU but even from my own limited perspective hearing that England is leaving it seems a bit crazy and scary. How were "leaves" able to pull this off? Did the "remains" fail to make a compelling argument in someway?

They essentially totally conceded the point that there was no reason to stay in the EU other than fear of the consequences of leaving. Their campaign was such a putrid combination of condescension and fearmongering that by the end of it even people who believed what they said couldn't stomach voting with them. It was like they were trying to convince people to leave with reverse psychology. "Oh, we're not good enough to get away with leaving. We NEED the EU, because we're weak and pathetic without it."

NPR had an interesting article today about how India is slowly coming aorund to the idea of the Brexit being a good thing for them. For a country with as many ties to the UK as they have, they were locked out of pursuing lucrative trade and labor deals due to EU stupidity. It would be pretty funny to see the UK pull a trade deal off with over a billion people that puts them on a better standing than the EU.
