Might be my favorite singles match of the year so far. One of the few matches where the slow and methodical pace did it for me as they very slowly ramped up towards the end match sprint that Dragon Gate is famous for. Great drama and psychology of technical prowess vs pure strength, and while YAMATO probably led the match, Big R more than held up his end. loving ruled.

I feel like the vote for the match needs to require the vignettes leading up to it, from the birthday party to the drone/motorbike chase to the dramatic lawnmowing. It's like someone with a backyard fed tried to make a Lucha Underground episode using only film students.

I agree. The match itself is OK, if a bit silly, but everything leading up to it was gloriously insane, and made the match so much better.

This got about half the show and was consistently engaging. I felt their Takeover bout was better all around, but this came pretty close. Only putting it at HM because the middle fall felt way too quick, but there was good storytelling throughout and the crowd was on fire by the end.
